Hello my dear, 1
The most wonderful thing has happened. I can't explain how brilliant it was. To put it simply, it was the best moment of my life.. 2
I was nervous. I'd gotten a call from him a few minutes ago, telling me he was only an hour away from being in my arms. 3
I looked to my Aunty for comfort, to settle my restless heart. 4
I counted down the minutes. One by one by one. It felt like forever, dear, it felt like eternity! 5
Wandering into my room, I slipped off my clothes. Walking up to my cupboard in simple slivers of undergarments, I took out a white dress.. the white dress, just for him. I pulled it over my head, tied it around my neck and smiled at my reflection. 6
When I counted the 59th minute, I heard the melodic ring-ring of my phone and my heart raced. I picked it up slowly, almost hesitant, my nerves like electric wires, and I opened it. It was him. I heard his voice flow through the reciever. He was being driven to my house by mutual friends, just around the corner. Then, the connection went dead. 7
I sighed. I breathed in a deep breath, but it didn't fill my lungs. I took another. And another. I was breathless.. He was close.. so close. Just around the corner... 8
Oh, my love, an hour may have seemed like it lasted ages but it was the last few seconds that sent my heart into hysterics. 9
I sat in the kitchen, dear, counting the last few seconds and ringing my fingers with nervous excitement until they turned ivory white. The chiming chirp of my phone shocked me out of my dazed nervous state; I jumped at the sound. I took it in my now-numb fingers and looked at the message on the screen. 10
It was from on of the friends.. 'We're here, come outside'. 11
My mouth went dry, my heart started beating rapidly, hammering against my bodice. This was the moment that would change my life. I knew that then... 12
I took a deep breath, walked to the front door and turned the latch with trembling fingers. Stepping out with my dress brushing against my ankles, I peer into the darkness to see a shadowed figure, obscured by the light shining from behind me. 13
I saw him walking towards me, then he stepped into the light.. and my heart went from a raging gallop to a dead stop. 14
I saw him; his face, his eyes, his entire person. 15
I stood and stared at him. His chocolate brown eyes shimmered in the light, his long dark hair cascaded over his shoulders and down his back, his full scarlette lips matched his soft cheeks in tone. I felt my own cheeks flush with heat. He was gorgeous, the most beautiful man I'd ever seen. I wish you could have seen it, dear. 16
It was like a slow, pituresque movie. It was all so slow; my decending down the front staircase, him moving towards me. It felt like we were moving so slow, almost agonisingly so. 17
I was impatient, I wanted him in my arms. Finally, I'd had enough and broke free of the cursed slow-motioned movements. I ran. Yes, dear, I ran. And I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist - so real and secure. A single tear ran down my face as I looked up and gazed at him. I took in all his features; his cool brown eyes, his high cheekbones, every shadow and contour of his face. Photographs and videos were passed between us but they hardly did him justice. He was better than I'd ever imagined...18
Just staring into his eyes, lost in their serenity and comfort, it gave me a sense of completeness. I finally felt whole. 19
We gazed at each other like nothing could ever tear us apart. I tilted my head up to his, standing on my tippy-toes, desperate to touch my lips to his. When our lips met, it was powerful. In one kiss the earth moved and everything else disappeared; everything, but me and him. 20
I stood back, dazed and looked at him. It felt like my lips had an electric current running through them, pulsating, wanting more.. 21
And, my dear, he took my hand. With our fingers entwined, we walked out of the light, down the grass covered path and into the darkness, letting romance and the sweet taste of wholeness take us where ever it wanted us to go.. 22
It was the best day of my life, my love.23
Always,24

This was beautiful. I know exactly how you feel. The story I entered in this contest is very similar.
