Allen and Harold stepped forward, setting their glasses on the counter and offering their hands to Josiah. The three men shook hands, smiling somewhat stiffly. Beth was proud of her men, they were doing their best to make things work.1
"This has been a long day," she told Kit as the young vampire licked the last of the blood from her lips. "But at least we've accomplished something. You can hunt on our lands now. Harold will try to get you clearance for the rest of our area." Kit nodded.2
The rest of the bikers put down their glasses, gathering around the older males. Harold patted Josiah on the back, then turned to the rest of his pack. "You have a beautiful home," he nodded, "and we have had a good time. But I think we'd better be heading home before Beth's father begins to miss us. He will want to know that things went well."3
The younger wolves shuffled toward the door, glancing around at the antiques and knick-knacks covering the walls and shelves. Beth looked back at Kit and waved. "See you back at campus, I guess," she smiled.4
"I actually like that man," Harold smiled, running a hand through his beard. "He governs his people very well."5
"And makes a mean rum and coke," Trevor smiled. The other young wolves laughed.
