[Series 2] The Haunting Reflection {Chapter Three - Change Back, Vence!}

The faster we traveled, the quicker we got there. Only, we had to rest for the night. Vence was cradling me in his lap, while sitting beside a nice fire. "Vence, how long do you think it will last?" I questioned, watching the fire rise, then fall back. "I don't know, Ari. It's not that-" I snapped my gaze to him, just as he in-hailed deeply. "Werewolf!" He shouted, his grip on me was tight, just before jumping into the trees. The other followed pursuit. "Oh shit . . . It's not one . . . It's a whole fucken pack!" Justin cursed, making sure to lengthen his claws. "Ari, stay here." Vence settled me in a high branch, one that would hold me while they jumped off, meeting up with the ten humans, or so I thought. "The human you have with you, she is required for our master," the head male said, with his bronzed skin reflecting the flames off his well-toned skin. "Not a chance!" Vence snarled, the milky-white parts to his eyes were starting to fade into a black, pitiless colour. "Where is she, anyways? Common, we don't wanna sniff her out."1

 I leaned against the main part of the tree, watching with horror as they fought. Vence was really starting to scare me. He had this strange Ora glowing around him, and his claws had grown long, and sharp, the same with his fangs. "Vence . . . ," I whispered, tears forming in my eyes. "Ah! There you are!" One of the dangerously huge wolves growled, pouncing for me. I gasped, doing the only thing I thought was sensible at the moment. I jumped. 2

When my hand caught another branch, it slit some of the skin along my palm. Everything seemed to stop. The Werewolf on-top of tree sniffed, and started clawing from branch-to-branch, towards me. The blood-thirsty Vence turned his eyes to mine, seeing my pained expression, and the fear in my eyes, which triggered a feeling of protection. He sprung onto the branch I was hanging from. "Ari . . . ," he choked, settling me on the branch before slamming his fist into the Werewolf that leaped from the branch above. 3

I felt a warm, rusty-tasting liquid splatter across my face. Vence was completely nuts! He had killed that Werewolf, with just his hand! I gapped at him, my shoulders tremblings. "Heh, stay here, Ari. I'm gunna shed blood." He chuckled afterwards, dropping the wolf body. I just looked at him, his voice, it was different. I reached out to him, but he just pounced away, returning to the fight at hand. 4

As far as I seen, BB and CC were natural partners, getting each other's back. The same thing was with Z and Jay. Vence, Justin, and Alex were by themselves, ripping at whatever they touched. The Werewolves were strong creatures, but they didn't stand a chance against Vence's new form. It even struck fear into my heart. I flinched as Jay and Z pounded their fangs into another wolf, tearing their neck open. "There's one more . . . What should we do with it?" CC asked, his own voice was sort of altered. There was something I hadn't noticed before . . . All their eyes . . . They were glowing brightly, a deathly red. 5

"Stop!" I cried, jumping to the ground. They all turned to me, still intoxicated by my injury. "Vence!" I yelled, throwing myself at him. Everything seemed to slow down as my arms wrapped around Vence's neck, hugging him as tightly as I could. "Stop it! Your scaring me, Vence! Turn back, please!" I whimpered the whole time my body shook. Sobbs banged my chest. The last wolf returned into the forest, heading back where he came from. "Aries . . ." I watched as Jay, Z, and Alex's eyes turned back to normal, following BB, CC, and Justin. I stared into Vence's deadly eyes, tearing streaming down my own. His gaze . . . fangs . . . everything, was something I never wanted to see in my darkest nightmares. "Stop this . . ." I leaned my head against his chest, feeling his arms wrapping around me, just as tightly as mine. "Aries . . . ," he murmured, kissing my forehead.6

I sat on a broken, and large, branch. Vence was licking the blood from my palm, spitting it out when he got a good amount in his mouth. "It's so . . . Delicious," he muttered, emptying his mouth of my blood. "You don't want to crave it," I answered my unspoken question. He nodded, and began wrapping it with bandages from my pack. "Oh Vence . . . Did they scratch you?" I reached my free hand to a small cut along his cheek. He leaned his head into my hand, closing those soft eyes. "Vence . . . Is everyone else OK?" I inquired, looking towards the bloody campsite, where everyone was moving things around to make it look and feel less murderous. "I think so . . . We can ask them if you want." He tightened the bandage, just before kissing my good palm. 7

I couldn't sleep, period. Every-time I closed my eyes, Vence's demonic eyes glowed, staring right at me. I sat up, and Vence's hand slipped off my waist. I slid out of the tent, walking towards the amber-looking fire pit. I sat beside the small flames, resembling them to Vence's eyes. My eyes went to where the wolf body was, and I flinched. The sight of him, just grinning in pleasure about the blood. Which reminded me . . . I stood up, heading for the small pond a small distance from the campsite. It wasn't like I'd be in danger.8

"I don't understand why Master would want you in the first place." I squawked, turning from my position at the pond. I grabbed Z's dagger from my waist belt, holding it like a Ninja with kunais. "Chill out. I'm not going to touch you. I'm Syth." The bronzed follower of the head wolf walked up, his dark hair sweeping in the wind. He looked very handsome, but not as good as my Vence. He sat opposite of me, only wearing black shorts. His hair settled on the middle of his back, making me raise a brow. "Who is your Master?" I questioned, standing up. He chuckled, those almond eyes searching mine. "She, is unknown to us. We only know her female voice. It sort of reminds me of yours, Aries."
"You know my name?" I glared at him, not losing my guard. "Of course, how do you think he found you?" He got to his feet, winking at me lightly. "Don't worry. I won't let her touch you." With that, he speed off, leaving a bunch of dust behind. I tucked my air behind my ear, sighing. That was helpful.
