Look What You Did (Poem)

Leaves hold on with all their might 1

trying not to lose the one they love 2

They cling to the all mighty tree 3

refusing to let go 4

A gust of wind rips the leaves from the tree's branches 5

and the tree allows it to happen 6

Watching as the leaves float slowly to the ground 7

where they rot and turn into mulch 8

they continue to fuel the tree's life 9

But the tree doesn't pay them any mind 10

The tree moves on 11

Growing new leaves and staying as happy and healthy as ever 12

Leaves devote their lives to the tree 13

and the tree just moves on 14

as if the leaves hadn't been their in the first place15
