The Head Cheerleader Chapter 10

Nicole woke up to find that she was the only one in the room. She jumped out of the bed and went out into the hall way. Her father was standing by the water fountain.1

"Dad, where's Leah?"2

"They took her back already. They should be about done and I know that Leah will want to see you."3

"Dad can I ask you something?"4

"Sure baby girl what is it?"5

"How did you know that you were in love with mom?"6

"I guess it was when I constantly thought about her even when she was by my side and how I longed for her when she wasn't. The only thing that consumed me was thoughts of her. When I told her I felt relief just lift off of my shoulders."7

"Dad, I think that I might be falling in love with Leah. I know it's too soon to tell and I hope that by prom I will know. I just hope she feels the same."8

"If she does then you know that you two are meant for each other."9

Dr. Andrews came walking down the hall. His surgical masked was pulled down around his neck. Sweat beading off his head.10

"They are in recovery now. Follow me and I will take you to them."11

Nicole followed Dr. Andrews. The faint buzzing of machines were heard. Nicole slowly walked in to first see her mother who was laying there snoring slightly. On the other side of the curtain Leah was sitting up with tears in her eyes.12

"Hey baby. How are you feeling?"13

"Oh a little sore. Nothing your kisses can't take away."14

Nicole kissed Leah softly.15

"Ah now that is a much better."16

Leah winced and touched her side where the bandage was. Nicole sat down along side Leah holding her hand. 17

"So you got two days of recovery. What do you want to do when we get out of here?"18

"I would like to spend some time with you and take you to pick out your dress for prom. Along with some other plans."19

"Oh and what are those other plans?"20

"Now your going to have to wait and find out. I know that you will enjoy them so no worries."21

Pain surged through Leah's body. She closed her eyes for a moment. Then opened them. Nicole kissed her again.22

"Thanks. How's your mom?"23

"Sleeping like a baby."24

"Well that's good."25

"Yeah. Thanks for everything that you have done for us. That means the world to me."26

"Nicole you mean the world to me!"27

Leah held tightly to Nicole's hand. The pain was enough for her to go through especially when you do it for love!
