The Head Cheerleader Chapter 9

Leah was lead into the room where she would be spending the night. There she sat with Nicole and they talked.1

"You Leah you don't have to do this."2

"But I want to Nicole. Trust me I really do. There's a lot that I am thinking about like prom and of course you."3

"Oh really care to tell me exactly what you are thinking about me? Hmm..I wonder and it's going to bug me until I know."4

"Well I guess that you will have to wait and find out."5

Nicole pinned Leah down on the hospital bed kissing her and nibbling her ear. Leah squirmed. Mr. Meadows walked into the room.6

"Sorry girls didn't mean to interrupt." His face turned blood shot.7

Nicole got up and adjusted her tank top and took a seat by Leah.8

"I wanted to talk to you Leah about what you are doing?"9

"OK shoot away Mr. Meadows."10

"I just want to be clear that you really want to do this. I don't want you to feel like that you are being suckered into something that you don't want to do. Either way Leah to me your an angel wanting to do this for someone you don't even know."11

"Mr. Meadows I know what your saying. I lost my mother to cancer. Nothing of which I was able to do. But knowing that I am able to help someone is good enough reason for me to do this. I know that what I will able to do afterwards is limited like no over working my body by exercising too much or running. Those are things that I can live without doing. I just want to know that Mrs. Meadows will be able to have a full life and I want her to be able to understand what it is that her daughter sees in me. Mr. Meadows you don't have to say any more. I am in agreement that this is what I want to do."12

"Thank you Leah." Mr. Meadows stood up and placed his hand on her shoulder then left.13

Leah glanced over at Nicole who's eyes were swelled with tears. Leah slowly wiped away the tears that formed. Dr. Andrews interrupted them seconds later.14

"Leah I need to take your blood to make sure everything is good."15

Leah watched as he placed the green tourniquet around her arm. Her veins popped out. The alcohol felt cold on her skin. The needle pierced and she watched the blood being sucked into the tube. As quickly as it began it was over. Dr. Andrews took the blood and left.16

"Leah something has been bugging me. Why ddn't you tell me about your mother?"17

"Because it is hard for me to. I mean my father went and married my mother's best friend. I never adjusted to it. I haven't talked to anyone about mother ever since she died. I was blaming it on myself while everyone sat around drinking to wash the pain away. Soon I began to work out that just built my energy into something useful then beating myself up."18

"Leah I want to stay here with you tonight. I want to be with you every waking hour just to know that your alright."19

"Nicole your sweet and all but your the one that needs the sleep with all that has happened."20

"Yeah but you know being in your arms will make me feel a lot better."21

Leah moved over in the bed so Nicole could join her. Nicole's head placed upon Leah's breast. Her breathing went up and down until both drifted off to sleep.
