I looked at the window and saw my crush talking on the phone. i rolled my eyes and looked down at the book I was reading. A smile showed up on my face and I flipped the page. He looked in through the window right when I looked over, perfect timing. My eyes widened and I looked back down, my cheeks pink. He gave a small smile and waved. I waved back and smiled. He picked up the phone off his bed and dialed a number. In seconds my phone rings. I pick it up quickly.1

"Hey, Lena." He said.2

"Hi, Dominick." I said getting off my bed and walking to the stairs. 3

"What's going on?" He asked. I slowly started walking down the stairs.4

"Oh, nothing. Just getting some food. That's a-" I stopped tripping over my untied shoelace. I fell a few steps. I quickly recovered and picked up the phone, silence.5

"Are you okay?" He asked. I dusted off my jeans and fixed my t-shirt.6

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said.7

"hey, I'll call you tomorrow. My girlfriend is calling me... again." He said and laughed a little. I smiled.8

"Okay. Talk to you tomorrow." I said hanging up the phone and made my way down the stairs. I sighed and made a turkey sandwich. I went back to my room after eating and studied for a little while longer. I fell asleep quickly, a book over my face.9

I woke up the next morning and fixed my hair. The phone rang. I answered.10

"Hello?" I asked realizing I didn't check the caller ID. 11

"Hey." Dominick said.12

"Oh, hi." I said.13

"Me and Emily broke up." He said.14

"Oh, why?"15

"Well, Brooke saw Emily and Sam making out and called me. She even took a picture." He said. 16

"Oh, I'm sorry." I said.17

"Do you... maybe wanna... go to the..." He stopped.18

"What?" I asked.19

"The dance with me?" He asked. My cheeks warmed up and I looked at the floor.20

"Yeah, sure." I said. A few days passed and it was the day of the dance. I got ready and Dominick picked me up. We got there and went inside.21

"What do you think your doing?" Emily asked grabbing Dominick's arm.22

"Going to the dance with my girl." He said pulling away. I smiled. The night went great and after that we went out.
