Human Dominos

I walk through the hallways, bumping into several 12th graders who glared at me. Hey, it was their fault for just talking in a clump instead of walking in the first place. I finally make it to my looker and turn the lock. It snaps open and I grab all my books and close it before I realize something.1

"CRAP!" I yell in anguish and fiddle with the lock again.2

"Oh my god Becky. Forgot your backpack again?!"3

I glare at Katherine and stop working with the lock momentarily.4

"How much time til the bus leaves?"5

Katherine grabs her cell from her pocket and checks.6

"All I can say is that you don't have enough time to open your locker and get your backpack."7

"FU..."8

"Hey!" Oh my god. It can't be! I look up slowly and see the Leston Harris, more commonly known as Les.9

"Hi Les!" Katherine smiles and twirls a lock of hair between her fingers. My best friend has become my worst enemy.10

"Hey Becky. Hey Katherine."11

I can tell that Katherine is flustered since he said my name first. I give her a wide tooth grin and get up with all my books in my hands.12

"Hey Les. I'm going to the bus. You wanna come?" I manage to say without turning bright red. He shrugs his shoulders.13

"Sure. Let's go down the stairs."14

I nod fervently and start walking right by him. Katherine takes his other side instead of next to me. I am hating her right now. Luckily for me and unluckily for her, he focuses all his attention on MOI. We chat about random stuff like teachers and what we want to do while Katherine glares at me and occasionally butts in. Then as we reach the top of the stairs and start to go down, Les kisses me full on the lips. I'm not even kidding. I'm so shocked that I fall over, which isn't a good idea since there are many people still going down. I collapse on top of the guy next tome, who collapses onto the person next to him, so on and so forth. I watch in horror at this domino fall I created. When the last person fell, everybody turned to see who caused it. Needless to say, Katherine was happy to oblige.
