I'm an Introvert.

I hate math class.1

It's not that math is hard. Actually math WOULD be one of my favorite subjects... Except...2

Well, let's rewind a bit. So around second grade, the cutest boy you could ever imagine moved to my town, and to my school. He is one grade ahead of me. He's a genius, very chivalrous, and very, very, VERY popular.3

Just my luck.4

See, the problem with Mr. Perfect (by the way, his name is Cain), is that he's very outgoing. And I am very not outgoing. As a matter of fact, I'm am introvert. A major introvert.5

It's not that I'm uncomfortable with myself, or have a low self-esteem, or I'm emo, or anything like that. I just prefer solitude and silence to a big party with loud kids.6

So anyway, now I'm in ninth grade. I'm a freshman; he's a sophmore. I'm still introverted. Something great about being an introvert is that I pay attention in class and get ahh-MAZING grades. So I've gotten moved up in a few classes, like math. The reason I loathe math? Well here it is: Cain (a.k.a. Mr. Perfect) is in that class and happens to sit just two seats away from me.7

Most girls would absolutely love their crush-from-second-grade-Mr.-Perfect to sit so near in a dull class. Most girls would take that as a precious gift. Most girls would think themselves lucky.8

Then again, I'm not like most girls, and I am certainly not lucky. So sitting so near my long-time-crush, is 100%, pure, total stress.9

Occasionally I'll catch his glance and give a little smile. Occasionally he'll ask if I got the answer to number 32 on the homework. Occasionally he'll even ask me about my day. But for the most part, I'm an introvert.

    omg, patchy, I thought you were going to say you hated it because of the teacher, like you tell us so much now at school. xD Awesomeness story. Sounds like your really speaking and not just writing. Great work!

    I'm the same way. I had a similar experience (except for me it was History class). I like how the narrator speaks to the reader.

    I thought it was an awesome story! It totally put me back in high school, when I sat there staring at my crush, complexed as crap.

    In the recent years of my life i have become the opposite of a introvert lol
    most short stories don't read well that cover a long span, but this did good.
