Untitled (Chapter 9)

Julie flinched from her sleep and she realized that sun was raised. She looked around but nobody was there. She touched her lips and last night memories stroke back to her mind. She couldn’t believe what was happened last night just like she didn’t believe she still here. The door opened, Casper and Justin stepped in.1

“Morning, Julie.” Casper greeted her, and then Kim walked inside and greeted her with same word. She only nodded.2

Justin didn’t speak any word; he sat at the chair, pretended to read the news paper which was impossible. Julie tried to keep her eyes away from him but Justin just like a magnet that pulled her eyes to him again and again. But Julie never been kissed before and every time she saw Justin, she felt like something terrible was hit her stomach. 3

“Hey, have you bought the stuff?” Casper asked, didn’t know to Julie or Justin; none of them give an answer. Realized that none of them would speak, Casper sat in front of Justin and took the news paper from his hand. “What’s wrong here?”4

Justin raised his head and took a glance at Julie who threw her face away. “Nothing. As I said before, we never could be in the same page. We never connect to each other.” Justin tried to smile but despite a smile, he looked like a hungry wolf. “And about stuffs, Sam needed more ropes. So, I’ll buy it today….alone.”5

Julie tried hard to not take a glance to Justin, but she just couldn’t. She sighed then gazed at the window; was it real? The last night kiss? Was he serious? 6

Casper stared at Julie then to Justin. “Why you can’t get along together? What’s the problem?”7

“I think it was jealousy.” Kim answered from the kitchen; she appeared with a cup of coffee in her hand. “You know, Justin was your favorite kids along this time. But then Julie came and blocked his clever mind.” She winked to Justin who gave her a really big grin. 8

“Bullshit. I know that Justin sometimes could be so stupid but not this stupid.” Casper said as he rolled his eyes and leaned at his chair. “C’mon, I need the reason here.”9

“Hmmmm, Okay Casper. Just pretend like this is the most right reason; Julie is a beautiful girl, Justin fall in love with her but none of them want to admit it.” As Kim finished her words, both Justin and Julie flinched on their seats. Justin stood and cleared his throat.10

“I’ll go now, bye.” He tried to act casual but his moved was really clumsy. Casper and Kim frowned at Justin act. Julie tried to hide her face somewhere; she hope she could wear a mask or take of her face and throw it to trash can.11

“Listen, I’m not a psychic here….” Kim said as she stared at Julie. “You’re not really like each other, right?’12

Julie tried to push a smile on her lips. “No, we’re not. You’re just little bit annoyed us with that conclusion.” Julie said. 13

“Oh, Okay.” Kim tried to smile then took a gulp of her coffee.14

Casper stood and walked towards his room; he stopped for a while and stared at Kim. “Kim, you could go back to your apartment if you want. We won’t do anything until Sam coming back.”15

“Okay.” She stood and put her cup in the kitchen. “Julie, could you tell me if Sam was home? Just use the safe phone, you’ll find my number there.”16

“Sure, I’ll tell you right away.” 17

“Thanks, good bye then.” 18

Julie sighed and scoped around the room; she felt weird. The last night memories always disturbed her with an annoying way. She hardly admitted that last night was such a beautiful nightmare. And she hated herself for that feeling and she hated the fact that she fell in love with Justin. Justin? Mr. Big Mouth? The guy who always insult her? The guy she never got along with? How could that happened? Julie turned the radio on and listened to the music. That’s The Way It Is by Celine Dion. 19

Julie moaned and stared at the radio with evil look; hoped that she could throw that thing out of this place. Love came to those who didn’t expect it, that one was true. And love never say hello before they come. Julie turned the station and preferred to hear the news; the police still working on the Castor’s Bank robbery and still no significant result from their investigation. Julie smiled to herself, this one was cool; the upshot was worth with her work. 21

Julie finished with her lunch dishes; Casper didn’t come out from his room since he entered it so Julie decided to make a lunch for herself. She dried her hand and stared outside at the town view; it was noon and the sun was right at the top, it seemed so cold outside when the autumn came and Julie started to felt it inside the kitchen since the window opened widely at the meeting room. Julie walked to the meeting room and closed the window then she slumped at the couch, wrapped her body with a blanket that she found hanged at the chair. She was turned the TV on when someone came in. Julie took a glace to the guy who entered the room; noticed the strange coat of Sam reminded Julie to Justin and of course to last night beautiful nightmare. Julie hoped she could hide her face somewhere else; she touched her lips while her stomach started to spun.23

“Hay, Julie. What happened? You look terrible.” Sam greeted as he put his sport bag at the table.24

Julie was busy with her mind so she didn’t answer Sam’s question. She gazed at the window while her hand stuck at her lips. 25

Sam frowned and walked closer to Julie. He kneel beside Julie’s couch and waved his hand in front of Julie’s face. “Hay, Lady. Are you okay?”26

“Oh!” Julie flinched and she was sure that she got blushed right away. “God, Sam. You were shocking me!”27

“Hey, I already greet you but you didn’t answer me.”28

“Sorry, my bad.” Julie said while tried to give a smile.29

“So, what make you act like that?” Sam asked as he stood and started to unpack his bag.30

“Hmmm? Nothing….” Julie murmured, still didn’t focus.31

“You look like a girl who has been kissed for the very first time, you know?” Sam said as he laughed to his own joke.32

Julie flinched at her couched and stared at Sam. “What? No! Of course not……” She tried to convince him even she couldn’t convince herself. 33

Sam took a glance at Julie who just stood and walked to the kitchen. “I’ll call Kimberly, I promised her to give a call if you came.”34

Julie rushed to the kitchen and took her safe phone; she searched at the contact list and called Kimberly. “Hay Kim, Sam was come just a minute ago.”35

“Okay Julie, thanks. I reach there soon.”36

Julie cut the line off and put her safe phone on her pocket. She walked to the meeting room and found that Justin already came; he lied on the couch, watching a soap opera. Julie felt like she could change into a cockroach and hide under the couch.37

“Julie, what are you doing? Standing there like a decoration statue.” Justin said without even a glance to her. 38

Julie bowed her head deeper and walked passed Justin toward Casper’s room. “I want to tell Casper that Sam was come.”39

“He’s on the bathroom, Julie.” Sam told her.40

Julie felt like her face was burned; it was shame! She acted like a stupid girl! Stood like a statue, did something weird and now what? Julie tried to calm herself down while standing in front of Casper door. She felt like everything she done was wrong; Justin eyes were following her everywhere.41

“Julie, what are you doing there?” Casper asked when he stepped out from the bathroom.42

“Err, I want to tell you that Sam was come but I think you already know it.” Julie said rapidly then she rushed to the bathroom and smashed the door behind Casper.43

Julie wanted to hide! Julie wanted to run! Anywhere! And for the first time she felt like she almost die. She didn’t afraid if one of them threatened her with a gun or endangered her with a lion. But now, she fell in love with one of them and it suddenly felt even more dangerous than a shotgun in front of her face. She walked to the sink and washed her face slowly. 44

Calm down Julie, what’s wrong with you? Julie shook her head and slapped her own face. “Ouch….” She hissed when she realized it was hurt. She watched her reflection stared back at her from the mirror.45

“What? Why are you staring at me? Am I looked like a weirdo?”46

“Yes you are…..” Someone answered Julie and she flinched when she saw Sam stared at her from the door. “What are you doing? Talk to your self....." Julie felt like she almost fainted. She tried to smile even it was looked like she was hurt.47

"Kim already came and Casper wanted to talk. Hurry up.” Sam said.48

“Oh….” Julie turned the water off and walked out from the bathroom, followed Sam and sat beside him. 49

“You need to talk to me after this.” Sam whispered in her ears. Julie only nodded because she felt like her mind circuit was little bit broken. 50

“Okay, so here’s the plan.” Casper opened the blue print of Reynold’s Bank, their target. “So this bank was also has a hotel. This going to be easy; Kimberly will pretend to be one of their technicians and hack the cameras from inside. Julie, you have to put these two bags at the air ventilation on the man restroom in the first floor. Sam and Justin will pretend to be their technician but they will open the safe. After they take the money, they will go to the restroom and take the bag. Julie, after they come, you must go to the parking lot and prepare the car.”51

“And what are you doing?” Julie couldn’t help herself to not ask when she realized it was too late.52

“I’ll pretend to be one of their investor and prevent anyone who has authority from disturbing you.” Casper answered easily. “Do you have any opinion or disapproval, Julie?” 53

“No, nothing…” Julie muttered54
