Untitled (Chapter One)

Preface
And there I was... Facing death itself, but I was not laughing. Death was laughing. He felt my fear and my hatred. Fear and hatred for the unknown, the supernatural, the end of my humanity...1

Chapter One 2

"Let's take a break from this studying," Emmett was getting restless, I could tell. I knew he had no tollerance for concentrating on one thing at a time.
I let out a sigh of frustration. 3

"Fine, Emmett. I don't know why I care more about your grades than you do."4

"Ughhh Anna, don't give me that."5

"Give you what?"6

"That guilt trip. I just don't care Anna."7

"Grr... Fine! So what do you want to do now?" A huge smile spread across his face, that adorable face!8

"You know what I want to do."9

"Emmett no."10

"C'mon Ace. It's just seeing how many raisins we can fit up our noses."11

I rolled my eyes and attempted to explain to Emmett for the millionth time why I did not like partaking in this insane ritual.12

"Emmett, I will never EVER let you talk me into that again."13

"Awww c'mon!"14

"It's ridiculous and incase you hadn't noticed I'm a girl, and girls don't like those things"15

"You're not a girl... You're Anna," He said this with a wicked grin. We had been best friends since pre-school. Of course I was 'just Anna'. I could never be more to him. 16

Before I could say anything else he was in my kitchen rumaging for the box of raisins.
He came back in with the jumbo size. Oh no.
I sighed. 17

"Fine. You go first."18

"Haha, no way. You're gonna back out."19

"Damn it."20

By the end of 3 minutes he won 27 raisins to 2 raisins... I was not only disgusted by this outcome, but also in awe as to how he could fit them all up there.21

"Well I got to get home," Emmett said trudging his feet to the back sliding door,"Meet me out back at 2400 hours out back in the tree house."22

"Why that late?"23

"'Cuz I got a surprise for you." He flashed that adorable grin again.24

"Fine. You might have to knock on my window. I might be sleeping."25

"Better not be. Bye Ace."26

"Ugghh don't call me 'Ace'!" 27

I could here him laugh as he bombarded out the door and into the back yard. I watched him hop the fence and disappear into his yard next door.
I hated when he called me 'Ace'. I'm not a good writer, really. I just hate being reffered to as something I'm not. There is so much more to me...
I just wish Emmett saw that.28

It's five 'till midnight and I still don't see him. Oh... There he is. What the...?29

He was holding a dozen roses and a bottle. I snorted. Probably just some weird best friend thing. It was probably only sparkling water, the roses probably chocolate for us to eat. He likes to play tricks on me. He'll probably expect some kind of reaction.
Well, he won't get one out of me.30

I open my window and a rock flies right past my ear.
"Hey stupid! I'm coming!" I whisper loudly.
"Oops. Sorry."31

I clime onto the roof of my house, shimy down the drain pipe, dammit! I slipped and would have fell if he hadn't have caught me.
Weird. He usually jumps at the chance to laugh at me. He was gonna play hardball on this.32

Author notes

I'm attempting a modern story relating to teenagers. Some of these expiriences are from my life, some are just things I came up with. Tell me what you think so far.
