BEEP, BEEP, my alarm clock roared. Trevor reached his hand out of the covers, pushing down the off button. Trevor then woke to the same cold breeze in the air. He then remember that it is Chrismas. He hoped out of the bed with excitment noticing the snow fall. He ran down the small hall way to the small tree in the center of the living room. He looked to only about three or four persents because of such little money they had. He couldnt wait to open them, he didnt hesisitate. He pulled open the first persent. ''OH MY GOD ITS A NEW SHIRT!'' saying with excitment considering he was only about five years old. He then put the shirt on the couch next to the tree. He then grabed the second present under the tree. he pulled it open so fast he didnt even care about the mess he was making. ''Wow its a new reggaeton CD! he then ran to the small radio in the kitchin putting the CD in. He let the loud spanish rap fill the house with noise. He ran down the hallway to his mother's room. He looked to her sleeping with her husband. He then thinks to himself '' I dont think they would care if i went out with my friend Ricardo.'' He ran to his room, putting on big black baggy south pole jeans with a big zipup black hoodie with a puerto rican flag logo on the back. He to the radio, turning it off. He then dashed out the door, ran down the staires and to the parking lot.2

Soon after he left the cold drops of snow fall lightly onto his face. He ran acorss the street to his friends house. He ran up the staires until he got to apartment 25 B on the second floor. He knocked on the door patiently until a the door began to unlock. A small boy then opened the door, he had light tan skin, dark blue baggy jeans with a black leather jacket and a black beanie with a puerto rican flag logo in the frount of it. He looked to Trevor with a slight grin. ''He then said in spanish, sence they both cant speck any english '' You ready to go?'' Ricardo then answered quickly with a nod, and They both walked out of the house making sure the door was closed. They walked to down to the park meeting up with two other friends named Carlos and Emanuel. Trevor and Ricardo both walked to them. They greeted each other with a urban hand shake. Carlos is 6 years old and has a scar acorss his cheek when he was attackec with a knife when he was 4. Emanuel was the youngest out of all of them, he is 5 years old and has a small mustache. All the boys have there haircut as a fade, [ a real puerto rican haircut.] Trevor then said to all of them '' Ey Whats up guys, see any good looking girls lately?'' They all laughed to his comment agreeing with a nod. ''Ey guys we should go to little Italy and look for that Italian kid that fucked up tito.'' He added. ''But then we gotta sneck on the subway trains again.'' Ricardo said with a bit of an excited voice. Trevor then said '' Ok i agree that kid put him in the hospital, nobody gets away with hitting one of are friends.'' They all agreed with him. They all walked to the subway in Welcheaster. They snuck past the secerity snecking into the small train. It was about a half an hour until they got to little italy due to other stops. When they got there, they all walked out of the train and onto the surface. They looked at the snow countinue to fall. They all also noticed all the itlaians walking on the sidewalks. Emanuel then said, '' Eh guys uh.. any idea where this kid lives?'' He said with a bit of a worried voice.'' All of the kids shruged to his question. '' I got an idea, Carlos and Ema go look around the east and south parts of Little Italy and me and Ricardo will go look around the north and west parts.'' Trevor added. If you find him beat the living fuck out of him.'' Ricardo said with a evil voice.'' Carlos then said '' We will meet here at four, thirty p.m good?'' They all agreed to his idea. They then went there seprate ways until Carlos noticed a cuple police officers. He then noticec him look at him. Carlos then said to Emanuel '' Do you think those cops are looking for us?'' Emanuel then said, '' If they come up to us, there gunna wish they stayed away.'' The cops countinued to fallow them unseen. Mean while, Trevor and Ricardo couldnt find him anywhere they looked though all of north and west side of little Little Italy. As time passed, Ricardo then said to Trevor, '' Trevor its time to regroup with the others.'' They both agreed and walked to the entrance to the subway station. The other boys where already there and waiting. They looked to Trevor and Ricardo with worried faces. Carlos then said with a angry voice, '' WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU THERE ARE COPS LOOKING FOR US!'' Trevor then said with a rushed voice, ''SHIT LETS GET OUTTA HERE!'' they all acted fast and dashed down into the subway trains. They piled into a trian sticking with the crowds of people pileing into the trains. Once they all took there seats in the trian, they all sighed in relief. When they got back to South Bronx it was about six, fourty-three p.m. The train then stoped at Welcheaster. The boys exited the train and walked out of the subway. Carlos then said '' Hey guys lets go get are haircuts i know a barber named Jose who will give us are fades for free!'' He said with a excited voice. All the boys nodded and walked to Jax haircut about 20 minutes from Welcheaster. Once they walked in they noticed about 5 people waiting to get there haircuts. Carlos walked to jose and said '' HEY JOSE GUESS WHAT WE JUST RAN AWAY FROM COPS!'' he said with a very enthusiactic voice. Jose then replied '' Wow you kids are bad ass, but serously dont be getting into trouble around here espicaly sence none of you speck english.'' ''Well me and my friends want a haircut but we got no money can you hook us up?'' Carlos added. Jose then repiled '' Sure why not, but let me finish these people the wait will be like a half hour tops.'' Carlos nodded and walked back to the other and said '' He will gice us are haircut when he finishs the other people's wait will be like a half an hour.'' All the boys nodded. They all sat on the chiars patiently until Jose called Emanuel. About a half hour later they all had perfect fades.'' They all thanked Jose with a hand shake. They wlaked out of the shop and played at the park around the block from the barber shop. They played until it began to get dark they compleatly lost track of time. It was 11:25 at night. Trevor then said guys its getting late and im freezing!'' Emanuel then said to Trevor with a sarcastic voice '' Pussy. '' Trevor then pushed him and yelled '' SHUT UP YOU FUCKING DICK HEAD GO JUMP OFF A BRIDGE!'' they pushed each other until carlos and Ricardo pulled them away and said '' GUYS CHILL OUT JESUS CRIST. '' Trevor then pushed Carlos and walked away without saying bye. The other boys shaked each others hand and walked home. 3

Trevor then began to smell a sent of fire in the air. He looked around the area, examining it well. He walked down to his house with a fast paste. He then looked to his apartment building. His eyes bulded open. He then looked to his building on fire. He ran to the frount door not caring about the fire. He bashed it open with his foot, and ran inside the building. He dashed up the staires until he ogt to his apartment. He noticed the door was already knocked down. He ran to the center of the living room yelling '' MAMI, PAPI WHERE ARE YOU?'' about 20 secounds later he heard a scream in the kitchin. He ran to the kitchin, bashing the door with his foot. He saw his mother burning on the floor. The fire had already reached her legs. Fire was begining to ride up to her tighs. Trevor looked to her in shock. His mother looked to him and said '' Papa come here '' Trevor ran to her and said '' it'll be okay ill call for help. Right when he was gonig to the phone his mother grabed his arm and said '' There is no time get your brother and get out of here!'' She yelled. He then said '' But mami what will i do without you i cant even speck english!'' She then replied '' Go to your aunts house down the street she will help you.... I love you Trevor.'' The fire then began to crush down her body. He watched her burn until she was covered in fire. He got up and ran to his little brother's room. He looked at him with a scared face. He noticed he was already burnt. He then ran to his perents bedroom and saw his father with out arms and legs. He then heard sirens going off. Trevor then thought to himself '' I gotta get out of here!'' He ran to the window in his bedroom. He grabed a picture od his perents and little brother, and dashed out. He slamed his fist into the window, kicking the rest of the glass out. He forced his body into the window and slid down a latter by his window. He then ran down the street until he got to his aunt's house. 4

He knocked on the door impeientlu. A young girl opened the door. She has light tan skin, long black glossy hair, with seemingly tight black jeans. He then said ''NATALIE IS MY AUNT HERE?'' she then said yes come in.. He walked in closeing the door behind him. He hugged his aunt and step uncle. Soon after he ran up to the roof of the building and watched the firefighters burn out the fire. He then remembered his mom always telling him '' Dont do anything violent in your life one day you will leave south bronx i promise.'' Trevor then said out loud, '' Im sorry mami but im going to have to brake our deal.. i belong here.. god put us here because we dont fit with the world.. im staying...
