Open Your Eyes

You're just running through the obstacles you gave yourself.
Can't you stop to smell the flowers?
Can't you slow for morning showers?1

You built yourself a cage,
And now you're stuck inside.
You try to claw yourself out,
But it's not working..
It's just not working. 2

Even though you can't see,
Everyone else can.
Can't you open your eyes
To see the sunrise
Ahead of you?
The dawn's breaking in your endless night
As the solution is coming to your wretched plight.3

Learn to live,
Learn to forget....4

Kiss the future as you come into the light
And wave good-bye to the depressing night.

    This was really pretty. I don't usually call a poem "pretty" because I can never find the right poem to call it that. Well hello there, you are the chosen one . Keep up the good work!

    Very pretty, I love the whole thing. Especially the ending. I love this line:

    "Kiss the future as you come into the light
    And wave good-bye to the depressing night."

    You are really optimistic. When bad things happen, the only thing we need to do is learn to live and forget. Its so true. I love it.
