End of the world, Chapter One.

1

The mighty United states of America was little more than a gaping crater that could be seen from space. World War Three had taken it's toll, and this was the result. Fifty bombs dropped on us with such force that the country was simply wiped out without any noise. I had woken up in a burning pile of wood that once was my home. How I survived, i'll never know. From what I could see, the sky had turned from it's serene blue to a hazy, angry crimson. Maybe this was hell. 2

Looking arround, the neighborhood that I had called my own was a smoking pile of ashes. I saw no survivors, nor heard any noise beyond the rapid beating of my own heart. My mind raced, filtering through pictures in my memory of family, friends, and the life that I thought normal before I closed my eyes that night. I had felt so safe, so secure. I was so foolish. We all were. 3

I can't wait to read the rest of these. Amazing, even with that short chapter. Very well done.

Very good start here. You can go anywhere with this and I look forward to the coming installments. It is an attention getter and not so far from possible that it calls for a stretch of the imagination to get into it. Hurry with chapter 2.
