How valid is the description 'Pointless Slaughter' of the nature of the second World War?1
Many people have different theories as to the actual origins of World War 2, and many question whether there ever was a point to the entire thing, or if it was just an excuse for 'Pointless Slaughter' or, as i would refer to it: Legal Murder.2
The origins of WW2 could be contributed to many things. The Versailles Treaty. Adolf Hitler, appeasement, fear of communism even the Depression of '29. One thing is for sure- Adolf Hitler will always play the staring role, will always be at least part of the catalyst to this world wide catastrophy.3
His hatred of Germanies economic position, Jews and the Versailles Treaty endeared him to mny German people and his inspiring and entrancing way of speeking held millions in thrall. He trained children to be killers using the Hitler Youth as a training camp for future soldiers and adoring followers. He made it like our Scout groups- fun while learning new skills- and in this way created the most dangerous installemnt of his army. people who followed him for love and were not afraid to die for him.4
Throughout the course of WW2 more then 50,000 people died.
The 2 WW was by far the worst war the world has seen or even heard of in all recorded history. More mobile then WW1 (the war to end all wars) WW2 was equiped with submachine guns, submarines, aircraft carriers, nuclear bombs (Hiroshima), fire bombs and other new war technology. The second WW had the highest death toll on civilian lives- bombings of cities like Dresden, death via starvation in walled up cities in Poland, torture (germans and Japanese) prisoner of war camps, death camps where chemical experiments as well as torture was carried out on Jews and others and then there were the servicemen actually fighting in the war.5
There is only one word that can describe this massive lose of life.
Murder. Plain, simple and deadly as the weapons used to commit these atrocities set in action by Adolf Hitler when he first began invading Poland. Hitlers appeal to the days of Freddrick the Great, the knights of old and of how Prussia united many countries to become one, had inspired Hitler to want to creat a superstate- or rule the world.6
But Hitler is not the only one to blame for the murder of innocents. the bombings of Dresden were initiated by the British, Pearl Harbour by the Japanese and Hiroshima, America.7
The 2nd WW- fought every where, by every country was made a blood bath by greed for power and new weapons. It was an excuss for those with power who hated Jews (even those without power) to be rid of them and for others to comit acts against humanity.8
WW2 was indeed a pointless slaughter of innocent people.

Watch out for typos, capitalisation and spelling errors.
"50,000 people died" Typographical error? Losses in WW2, both military and civilian, were in the tens of millions.
You could have briefly listed the public reasons the governments gave for fighting the war: Germany - Lebensraum (living space); Japan - Resources & Markets; France & England - Treaty obligations & stop aggression; USA - Stop aggression; Russia - protect the Motherland & punish German aggression.
Is there such a thing as a "justifiable war"? What are the alternatives to armed conflict when a nation or groups of nations are aggressive?

yeah, i have to fix it up- as i said exam essay.
i intend to rewrite it again at some stage and hopefully i'll have more facts straight. lol

I have a question. You stated that 50,000 people died during WW2. Are you talking about the total military deaths of all the combatants during WW2? Because if so then the number of military deaths were MUCH higher. Germany alone lost (depending on which source you refer to) 3.5 - 5.5 million deaths; Japan, around 2 million; Russia, 10 - 13 million. The total military deaths for all combatants was around 25 million. So that part at least needs to be explained more.

thankyou for reading this, my sources said around 50,000 ( i shall presume that they were talking civilian more then military) or more but i couldnt get an accurate count on everything, plus i did not have much material with me on this exam as it was an exam.

Hiya again! If it's civilian deaths then, sadly, that was even worse than military deaths. Around an estimated 40 million civilians died or were killed directly because of the war.

I just the other day talked with a man that come to find out was the Son of a man that was sucked into the S.S., It was a very strange thing to stand talking with one that lived through the night mare of that war in the manner he spoke of. I have family that told me stories of hiding as the air raids just about wiped out England.

i will indeed try to check out some of these sources and yes i will endevour to find out some more, at the moment we are working on revolutions though so i'm focusing more energy on that at the moment.
anything i do on the second world war will be in my own time and at the moment i'm kinda busy.. tired, still recovering from being sick at the begining of the week, also we have less then 12 weeks left of official school so i'm gonna have to get my butt into gear
