Justin lay next to her on the hard cement, head propped up with his left hand. She looked uniquely beautiful; wet hair plastered against her face and shoulders, root-beer brown eyes gazing up at him, purple bikini-top poorly matched with her faded blue jeans. More than anything in the world, he wanted to taste those lips that giggled each time she kicked the chilly water up over the side of the pool onto his jeans.2

3

As was usual in his life, the girl made the first move; leaning forward, she traced his jaw with the silky, smoothness of his fingertips, leaving behind a trail of warmth that he cherished.4

5

Justin leaned forward and brushed his lips against her’s, savoring the lingering taste of cherry lip gloss. After a few seconds of laughing and teasing, his lips founder jaw and began making their way down her neck. Lazily, his right hand played with her belt buckle as he continued his trek down her body, loving the involuntary shivers that rocked her body as his tongue ran along her collarbone.6

7

Justin looked up; some one had walked into the pool room. Cursing silently, he moved away from his lover as the lights flickered on around them.8

9

“What the hell are you two doing?” demanded Justin’s friend, Patrick.10

11

“Trick we…” Justin started to reply, but Patrick cut him off.12

13

“Shut up, Jay.” He snapped, turning to the young woman at his feet, “I want to here from you first Cameron.” He glared accusingly at her.14

15

“Patrick, I’m sorry. I am so sorry.” She began to sob, face hidden behind perfectly manicured hands, “We never meant to hurt you. It was a mistake, a fling…besides, Justin told me it would be okay,” between her sobs, she glanced hopefully up at Patrick, “He told me you’d never find out.”16

17

Justin stared at her in disbelief; suddenly, the girl before him was a complete stranger. He stood up, careful not to slip on the wet cement. “What the hell are you talking about, Cam? You’re the one who seduced me, you wouldn’t leave me alone…” He turned to Patrick, angry and humiliated, “Patrick, your girl’s a **** temptress.”18

19

He ran his hand through his hair, wishing he could disappear. “I am sorry, so **** sorry, Patrick. I should have told you what was happening, I shouldn’t have given in, I should’ve done…something.” He broke off, well aware that nothing he could say would make the situation look any better.20

21

Justin’s hadn’t felt this ****ty in years; his head was throbbing, his eyes were stinging and his breath caught in his throat; Patrick was the best friend he had ever had. “I am really, really sorry. I never meant…I never wanted…I would never do anything intended to hurt you.” He bit his lip, fighting back the tears that were filling his eyes and threatening to spill over. “I’ll understand if you never want to talk to me again, but you were, are, the best friend I’ve ever had.” He grinned, bitterly, “Besides, Trick, I told you the first time we met; I am a ****ty excuse for a human being.” He turned and walked away, leaving the other two speechless and glaring.22
