"Me, an Obgyn, You've got to be kidding?" Sara laughed as she shook her head. "No way do I want to be down there between all those women's legs and..." She wrinkled her nose and made a face. "No, just... no! Now being between yours well... I mean that's an entirely different story but hundreds of others." Sara wrinkled her nose up even more.2
Alison busted out laughing as she smiled. "Well, you have a point. I mean if you were my nurse then that would mean you would be looking at other women's... umm yeah, scratch that idea. I can’t say I like thinking of you looking at…" She laughed even more as she watched Sara's expression. 3
Sara rolled her eyes and took Alison's hand. "Ummm yeah, me either." She giggled. "Maybe I should change clothes."4
"Absolutely not! I happen to like you in that dress." Alison grinned as her eyes wandered over Sara. "Red looks amazing on you." She pulled Sara close and kissed her. "Now, let's go before I change my mind about that hospital."5
Sara laughed as the two left from the room and walked down the stairs. She grabbed her car keys and before long the two had arrived at the hospital. The building was made entirely of brick and stood four stories high. People bustled in and out as ambulances pulled from the parking lot, screaming to life.6
Alison took a deep breath as the two stepped from Sara's car and looked up at the hospital. She looked over to Sara and squeezed her hand. "Do you think... that the baby is... okay?"7
Smiling, Sara squeezed Alison's hand tight. "I think the baby is perfectly fine. And we're here to make sure you, as well as that baby, stay that way." She kissed Alison's cheek and wrapped her arm around her waist as they stepped through the large doors and walked over to admissions.8
"Hi, I know we don't have an appointment but she really needs to see a doctor. She's about two and half months pregnant and... She hasn't had a check up yet. She's staying so sick and... We were hoping that there was some way you could work her in to see one of the obgyn's?" Sara smiled politely to the receptionist.9
The young receptionist flashed Sara a smile and then glanced over to Alison. "You just may be in luck. Dr. Perry came in a few minutes ago. She's actually running a little early this morning so let me check and see if she could work you in." She turned and walked away from the desk, poking her head into an office down the hall. A few moments later she returned with a clipboard of paper work. "Good news, she said she should have just enough time. If you will fill these out and hand them back to me she'll be with you soon."10
Alison smiled as she took the clipboard of paper work. "Thank you very much. I know this is last minute but... I really want to make sure this baby is okay." She touched her stomach before walking away with the paper work.11
Sara stayed behind. "Would it be okay if I go in there with her? The father he... he doesn't want anything to do with the baby and... She’s really going through a rough time. I don't want her to do this alone." Sara smiled, hoping the receptionist bought what she said about the father.12
"As long as it's okay with your friend then it should be fine with Ms. Perry." The receptionist smiled and turned to answer the ringing phone.13
Sara walked over to the chairs and took a seat beside Alison, letting her hand rest on her knee. "How's that paper work coming along?" 14
Alison sighed as she glanced up to Sara. "I feel like I'm signing away my life or something. My god I can't believe how much paperwork it takes just to be seen by a doctor." Rolling her eyes she turned her attention to the papers. "I swear I've had to answer a gazillion questions."15
Giggling, Sara smiled. "They didn't ask if you were from outer space did they or maybe if you were secretly a little green alien." She grinned when she saw Alison laugh.16
"No, but it's a wonder they didn't." She giggled as she smiled up at Sara. "How do you always manage to do that? Make me laugh when..." She shook her head and sighed. "You're so amazing." Alison continued the paperwork for at least ten more minutes. Finally, she scribbled her signature on the last page and happily stood up. "Done, finally!"17
Alison and Sara both walked over and handed the paperwork to the receptionist who took it straight in to Dr. Perry. After a few moments the Dr. stepped out and motioned them to follow her down the hall. Alison shivered as they walked down the long, white hall way. Thoughts of the last time they were at the exact same hospital suddenly flooded her mind. Sara sensed her discomfort and squeezed her hand tightly.18
Dr. Perry led them into a room about mid ways back. She waved them inside and then glanced from one to the other. "So, which of you is Alison?"19
"That would be me." Alison gave a slight smile as she met the Dr's eyes. "Sorry, I'm a little nervous about this whole thing."20
The doctor smiled. "First child, huh? Believe me, having a baby is an experience you will never forget. Nothing else compares to seeing that little human being come into this world, kicking and screaming." She reached up and pulled down a hospital gown and handed it to Alison. "Okay, I need you to get changed into this so that I can run a couple tests on you. Don't worry, they're all perfectly harmless." She then looked at Sara and back to Alison. "The receptionist said that your friend would be staying? Is that correct?"21
Alison quickly spoke up. "Yes, Sara stays with me. I... I want her to be here." She smiled up to Sara and then looked back to the doctor. "I feel more comfortable having her by my side."22
"Okay then. I'll give you a few minutes to change and I will be right back." She smiled, glancing at Sara again and then stepped outside.23
Alison took a deep breath as she tried to unbutton her blouse. "God this reminds me of..." She swallowed hard, trying desperately not to think of her exam after being raped.24
"I know sweetie. I know." Sara pulled Alison to her, hugging her tight. "Here, let me help you, okay?" She smiled, touching Alison's face gently. 25
"Thank you." Alison smiled, thankful to have Sara with her.26
Sara helped Alison to get undressed and to slip into the hospital gown. She then took her hand as Alison sat down on the exam table. "You know, for what it's worth, I think you're the bravest person I know. Honestly, if I had of been... I... Alison I... I don't think I could do what you're doing. I... you're my hero, you know that?" She smiled a slight mist of tears in her eyes as she kissed Alison softly.27
A blush came over Alison's face as she smiled. "Sara I... I don't know what to say. I..." She held back tears as she met her girlfriend’s eyes. "You're every bit as strong because I couldn't do this without you." She leaned forward, wrapping her arms around Sara as they held each other.28
The doctor soon returned, and stepped into the room to run a few tests on Alison. First, she ran another pregnancy test, and then she drew some blood to run a few more tests. Once she confirmed Alison's pregnancy test she proceeded with the physical examination.29
************30
“Pregnant…” He smiled as he listened outside the examining room door. Ever since the rape, he had been laying low, hoping she would think he had forgotten her. He hadn’t. He could never forget her. He had watched her, wanted her, hungered for her for nights on end, and he wasn’t about to give her up. “Mmmm, and now she’s having my child. Could this be any sweeter?” He grinned, an evil look on his face as he slipped away from the door and vanished down the hall, mingling with the sea of people.31
************32
The woman glanced to Selene as she spoke to the lady on the emergency line. Tears streaked down her face. Her hands trembled from everything she had been through the past few days. She jerked her head up when she heard the sound of an ambulance in the distance. "I hear them!" Dropping her mobile, she rushed out into the road and frantically waved her arms. 33
Soon, two ambulances rounded the corner. After they had stopped, the EMT’s rushed over to the woman. Backing up, she pushed them away with both hands. "I'm fine, it's only a few cuts and... please the other driver he's the one who... I... I didn't mean for this to happen I... help him." Her eyes pleaded as the blood from her wounds mixed with her salty tears.34
"Miss, you need medical attention and..." The EMT tried to make her go to the ambulance, but she refused. She pointed towards the other car, frantically speaking as they made their way over.35
An EMT poked his head inside, noticing the driver's leg was pinned. He leaned down, putting his hand on the woman inside the car. "What's your name Ms?"36
"I..." Selene turned, seeing the flashing lights and the EMT’s surrounding her. "Se... Selene. I... my fiancée he... oh god he's lost a lot of blood and..."37
"Selene," the EMT said in a comforting voice. "We are going to do everything we can to help him. Right now, I need you to help us. Can you do that?" He reached his hand down and motioned for Selene to take it. "I need to get you out of here so that we can safely get your fiancée out."38
Selene looked over at Luke and then back at the EMT. She nodded her head in understanding as he helped her out of the battered car. Another EMT rushed forward and helped to steady her. Her leg had taken quite a hit when the door caved in, causing her to limp. 39
"It's ok," the female EMT stated. She grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around Selene's shoulders. "You need to get to a doctor. They are going to do everything they can for your fiancée."40
She jerked away when the woman tried to push her towards the ambulance. "No! I am not going anywhere without him!" Selene flashed the EMT a hateful glare. She started back towards the car and quickly grabbed her head. Severe pains shot through out as she collapsed on to the pavement. The injury, she had sustained, was even more severe than even she suspected.41
The other driver rushed over and helped the EMT to get Selene into the ambulance while the others worked to free Luke from the car. "I... I didn't mean for this to happen I... Oh god why didn't I leave things in the past... Why did I..." The woman started to sob as she shook her head. "It's my fault, all my fault." She slumped onto the bench inside the ambulance as she watched the female EMT work with Selene. 42
It took every ounce of strength the male EMT workers had to free Luke from within the car. His leg had become pinned under the steering column. They quickly moved a gurney beside the car and loaded him on to it, working with him every step of the way. He had lost a severe amount of blood from the gaping gunshot wound. Without immediate surgery, they knew he would die.43
The other driver glanced out the door as they loaded the man into the other ambulance. Her face went even paler when she saw the shape he was in. She turned to the female EMT. "Are they... are they going to be alright?" Her voice was low as she spoke. 44
Looking up, the EMT frowned as the back doors were slammed shut. "I... we're doing all we can."45
She turned her head when the ambulances squealed to life and pulled back on to the highway. The cops had just arrived at the scene with two wreckers in tow. She trembled when she realized they would later have a million questions for her. Her mind was racing with thoughts as they made the journey to the hospital. She remained quite the entire time even when the EMT began to ask her if she was okay.46
It only took around fifteen minutes to arrive at the nearest hospital. The woman followed them inside as the wheeled both stretchers into the ICU. She leaned against the wall, not paying attention to the stares from everyone inside. People whispered as they looked on at the distraught, blood covered blonde. A nurse soon came out and ushered her to follow.47
"Ms. we need to check you out, okay?" The nurse put her hand on the woman's arm and slowly led her down the hall and into a free examination room. She pulled out some sutures and started to work with the large cut down the woman's face. 48
"I... I'm fine... really I..." The woman tried to push the nurse away. "I don't need anything I... Oh god what have I done?" She burst into tears as the nurse tried to calm her down. 49
"Ms. I need you to please calm down, and tell me your name. I know this is all a shock to you but before I can give you anything to relax, I have to run a check on you, okay?" The nurse placed her hands on the woman's arms.50
"I don't need anything! Damn it, I said I'm fine." The woman shoved the nurse’s hands away, "A check?” What the hell do you think I am some kind of drug addict?" Her hands trembled violently as she ran her fingers through her hair. "I'm not some druggy or some... some..." 51
"I didn't say you were. Please, it's just a routine check and..." The nurse paused, glancing out the door to the officers who had just stepped up. She looked back to the woman. "Those officers are here to talk to you and I suggest you follow my advice and calm down before you speak with them."52
The woman looked up, noticing the two officers that hovered around her door. She gave a defeated sigh and shook her head. "Fine, okay. Fine. Carina... Carina Tyler. I... I'm not some drug addict though and I... I don't need your help. I'm fine! F. I. N. E. Fine."53
Shaking her head the nurse stepped outside and gave them her name. She quickly returned and finished trying to bandage up Carina's various cuts. Carina protested the entire time. It took about fifteen minutes before a doctor finally came in and gave her a sedative so that she could relax before having to talk to the officers.54

Author notes
Hey guys! Well, here's another chapter, and I hope that you like it. What do you think of Carina so far? Some things on her will be revealed soon, and I have another new character whom will be coming in. I am very excited about her, she's so different from anyone else that's in this. Let's just say, she's not going to be a very nice person when you first meet her. She will be involved in a storyline with Carina, that's all I am saying for now.
I have finally got totally back on track with this story. I was back and forth a bit there for awhile due to some things going on that made me question a few aspects of it. I plan to continue with this one quite awhile though and branch it into new series with exciting new things. I will say they're are a few shockers that I have planned for furture chapters in this 4th series. Hope you like this one!

Thanks!

Yay! More crazy creepy man! Makes for good reading!
I think Carina is probably secretly some evil woman who is gonna manipulate the girls and Luke any way she can. Then again, I may be jumping the gun....
This chapter was just what was needed. I like the little part in the middle where the man is listening outside the door. But one question: if they are in a hospital and he has to go past the nurse's station to get to the door of the exam room (if he's a civilian), why doesn't anyone see him? Just a thought.
Other than that, great chapter and I'm looking forward to more! -

Hey! Thanks for the comment. I have been so MIA lately. I actually quit my job about a month ago, then my net has went out a few times, and I haven't been feeling like myself. *sighs* Trying to catch up on writing. I had several chapters of this written ahead but... I have to ax out a few of them because well... the stress at my job was driving me so nutty I went badly off. Booo hoo, lol.
Carina has a big secret, which will be revealed. I just need to get working on re-writing what all I messed up! Ack. I have another new character whom is also coming in soon too.
