As a kid, she was misunderstood. Nobody could understand why she couldn't make friends very easily, Why she didnt join in other kids games or why she didnt seem to understand the simplest of tasks.1
Her parents tried all they could, they got one doctors opinion after the other, they all thought it was a result of a dysfunctional family, but her family didn't think so, as far as familys were conserned, they were as functional as any, the parents were not divorced, there was no drugs or alcohol involved. Yet her behaviour continued to baffle them.2
Then she hit teenage years, and the shit hit the fan. She knew she was different, but nobody was listening, the very authorities she had always been told where there to help, were shunning her. She began to rebel, playing hockey from school, getting into trouble with the police.3
She just couldn't understand why though, the first time she got into trouble, it was for dialing 999, but she had only done that because she had been told to do that if she needed help, and she needed help desperately.4
Eventually her lack of knowledge led her into furthur trouble, she went through one job after the other after school, and lost each one, becuase she was misunderstood. Finally her patience sanpped and after she was sacked from her favourite job, a job she thought was going well, she got angry, she took it as a presonal attack and decided she would frighten the boss, like his very actions had frightened her, he had realed her in, the cast her back out, into the big hard world, where she knew nothing.5
So she held an immitation firearm to his head, she wanted him to experience the fear that she experienced every day, she knew the gun wasn't real and automaticall assumed that as soon as he got close enough he would to. But it all went pear shaped.6
She was sent to prison.7
A child among women, she didnt have any clue how to fit in, her behaviour triggered unwanted response from staff, she was contiuely restrained and kept segregated from others, to rpotect herself and others, as if she was some kind of animal.8
Then one doctor finally told her "You have aspergers, its a form of autism", she fianlly realised why she was different, she wasn't a bad kid, there where reasons she couldn't understand certain situations.9
She had a new reason for being, she realised her life was a mess, and she had to sort it, now she knew what was wrong, she could adapt the world to fit her, rather than trying to fit the world.10
She was released from prison and started college at a special needs college for people with autism, they taught her the vital skills she needed in life, they taught her what was socially acceptable and what was not, they taught her how to recognise other peoples emotions.11
Armed with this knowledge, that she had previously not had or understood, she took a big step into the outside work, she began to train as a counsellor, Despite peoples thoughts that she wouldn't succeed, she fought the fight, and now works with people like herself, helping those who still need that little guidance in life, that little support and knowledge that neuro-typical people take for granted.12
She had became something ahe never thought she would ever be, she had become a role model.

I loved this story!!
I was so glad that it was a story that had a happy ending and took a turn for the better instead of the worse because a happy ending was really what I was looking for in this contest! Very well written, too!
Good Luck,
