Chapter 21

Storm raced, only half super-speeding so that the cats could keep up, toward the ambush point.2

He stopped. Shock and Lacey did the same. They were in a lush green forest. There was an old abandoned stone temple not far from here, and that was where Penny and Bolt thought that the Proffesser was being held.3

Storm super-sped so fast that he ran up the side of a tree. Shock clawed his way up after him, and Lacey activated her hover-harness to follow the two. They hid on that branch, waiting for their prey.4

Storm grinned. Acording to Lacey's tracker, they would come straight into this forest clearing on their way to the temple.5

But neither Bolt nor Penny would reach it.6

A patter of paws in the distance reached Storm's sensitive ears. Then the humming sound of Penny's wheelbar (Her scooter thing, which folds up and in the video game she uses it as a weapon.) across the leaf-littered ground.7

An instant later Bolt, gripping a small iron bar attached to a cable that was tied to Penny's wheelbar in his jaws, pulled the riding Penny into the clearing, and almost ran off to the temple, not noticing the ambush, but Shockwave played his part.8

Shock leaped down, landing lightly on his feet, (Though Storm never could figure out how cats did that) in front of Bolt and Penny.9

Bolt skidded to a halt, and Penny screeched her wheelbar to stop as well. She reached into her backpack and whipped out the SDTG (You know what thats abriviated for).10

But Shock was prepared. He dodged left, then right as Penny fired, and Bolt released the cable in his mouth and lunged at Shockwave! Shock dodged the white Super dog by a hair.11

This distraction that Shock had done had made Penny and Bolt stop, and now it was Lacey's turn. She activated her collar, and out slid the sleep bomb. She tossed a mask that fit only for cats down to Shock, then put one on herself, and tossed the sleeping gas bomb down, right in front of Penny.12

The bomb did its work quickly, and before Penny could react, the bomb released the sleeping gas.13

Bolt was immune, and so was Storm. But Penny wasn't, and she knew it. The girl stumbled around in the growing cloud, calling "Bolt, *cough, cough*, Bolt!" She tried to get out of range, but she stumbled and tripped. She hit the ground with a thud, not strong enough to catch herself, and once she was down, she was so weak she couldn't get back up.14

Her eyes went misty, and as Bolt raced to her side, she coughed, "Go Bolt, h-hurry!". She tried to push herself up, but Shock leaped out of no where and pressed Penny back down. The girl gave up. She laid her head down and fell into a deep, sleeping-gas-fuelled sleep.15

Storm chuckled at the pitiful human, and he and his companions leaped down, closing in on Bolt, who stood over Penny, ready and furious. 16

Bolt growled at Storm Shockwave and Lacey. Then he put one paw behind him and....17

"ARF!"18

Bolt used his Super-bark on Storm, Shockwave and Lacey.19

Storm attempted to hold his ground, but flew into a tree as Shock and Lacey did the same.20

Storm growled, and ran back into the clearing where Bolt was waiting.21

Storm used the words that Bolt had used when they first met, when Bolt defeated Storm by using his Super Bark: "My move."22

Bolt's eyes widened in disbelief as he realized what the words meant seconds before Storm aimed his nose at Bolt and inhaled. 23

"AWROOOO!" 24

He unleashed his Sonic Howl. Bolt went flying into a tree.25

Shockwave was injured and unconsious, Lacey was limping; she had not noticed that Shock was wounded and out cold.26

Lacey activated her hover-harness, and flew into the air, she picked up the SDTG that Penny had dropped and flew over to the stunned Bolt and shot the super dog twice with the SDTD as Bolt got up.27

The super dog winced, and stumbled over to Penny, but as he reached her, he collapsed.28

Storm stalked over and towered over the Super Dog. He leaned down and hissed in his helpless rival's ear, "Penny's mine, SuperSnow!"29

Bolt's eyelids drooped, and he slurred out a weak murmur, "N-nev-...never..." His eyes shut, flutered open, then rolled back into his head as he fell into a tranquilized sleep on top of the girl he loved.30

Storm bowed his head and closed his eyes. What was the feeling he had now? He was puzzled. Was it...jelousy?! "No!" he growled to himself and pushed the feeling away, replacing it with satisfaction that he'd done his job.31

He turned and padded away to tend to Shock as the henchmen came and took Bolt and Penny to the lair. 32

Bolt woke up and looked around.33

"W-what happened? Where am I?" he asked and shook his head to clear it.34

Then it hit him he was in Dr. Calio's lair! Bolt growled and used his lasers on the cage he was in trying to brake free. 35

"No use, mutt." Lacey growled.36

"Calico made sure you can't get out." 37

She was sitting atop of his cage, smiling in satisfaction. 38

Bolt growled at Lacey.39

"Listen cat if I wasn't locked in this cage, I'd Spuer Bark you to the moon," growled Bolt. 40

She let out a small snort of happiness, purring. "Yeah. keep thinkin' that." 41

"Oh, went I get out of here, you are going to get it, cat." 42

"Yeah." said Lacey sarcastically. "I bet." 43

"You will, mark my words you will," said Bolt and he tried to brake out of the cage again. 44

"Uh, yeah. Yeah, I bet." she said, and jumped off of the cage. 45

Bolt snarled at the cat.46

"You will so get it."47

He kelp on trying to brake out of the cage. 48

"Bolt! Give up! You're weak, you can't do anything but whine, you ain't gettin' out, and we've got Penny! But don't worry: we'll take REAL good care of her." 49

Bolt growled and used hs Spuer Streach of the bars on the cage.50

"I'm not weak and you're going to get it were, I get out of here! I'll save Penny and her father! You just wait and see!" 51

"NO YOU WON'T, MUTT!" Lacey yelled, and hissed, her back arching. She looked scary, and 3 times her small size. 52

"Oh, I'm SO scard! Not!" barked Bolt. 53

Her claws unsheathed, but didn't attack Bolt: she slammed down on his back with surprising speed and force, and held tight to his collar with her claws. 54

"Get off me cat and let go of my collar!" growled Bolt. 55

Storm growled. He lunged on top of Bolt, pushhing him to the floor as Lacey landed on her paws safely.56

The henchman held his electric gloved hand closer to Penny's face, threatening to harm her.57

Storm suddenly realized that he WANTED Bolt to just stop trying, to make sure that the kid didn't get electrified. "Bolt, stop! If you really love Penny, you'll stop struggling and get in the cage, or else the kid gets fried!"58

Bolt looked at the electric henchmans hand getting closer and closer.59

Dr.Calico came up and scowled down at them, watching to see what Bolt and Storm would do. Storm told himself that if Bolt continued to struggle then Penny would get what she deserved, and if Bolt somehow managed to stop the henchman and free Penny, the Storm would stop him. 60

Bolt growled then sighed.61

"Fine," he said. "I'll get in the cage, just DON'T hurt Penny." 62

Lacey looked puzzled.63

She looked over at Storm, a big grin on her face. "Well, I'm hungry, go keep watch. Actually, scratch that." she said, unsheathing her claws, "I'll prob'ly stay."64

Bolt rolled his eyes.65
