The Legend of The Golden Griffin (Chapter Three)

Chapter Three: The Divine Failure1

Chris was running faster then he ever had in his life. He was about two miles away from where his house use to be and still running, but then Chris finally stopped to rest for a second. As he was crouched over holding his legs he heard a loud shriek like a bird, and then he looked up into the dark sky and saw the Golden Griffin flying right for him "Holy fuck, this creature ain't giving up anytime soon". The Golden Griffin was getting to close, and Chris start running once again until he saw a bunch of smoke beside the side walk. He ran up to the place where the smoke was coming from "oh my this is the video store I was at earlier, it has total burnt down", and then Chris checked the sky to make sure the Golden Griffin wasn't near. Then he started walking around the ash's of the store and saw something unique, it was a dark golden orb with an inscription on it but it couldn't be made out because it was to dark."Hmm...something tells me this might come in handy", so Chris stuck the golden orb in the pocket of his pants. Then right after he took his hand out of his pants there was a loud shriek and he looked up into the sky, and saw the Golden Griffin flying like a bad out of hell right towards him."Oh crap, I better get the hell out of here", and Chris took off running as the Golden Griffin was flying after him. Chris looked back for a split second and saw the something very strange all of a sudden a third eye appeared on the Golden Griffins forehead, and then and beam of light shot out of it. Everything the beam of light hit was disintegrated " Holy Fucker... I'm gonna be dead!!", Chris kept running as the Golden Griffin was firing beams of light at him, each beam seemed to be closer to him."Oh god I don't know how much longer I can run, but if I stop I will be dead", Then the Golden Griffin shot a beam of light right above Chris's head and it end up hitting the road right in front of him creating a crater the size of a semi truck. Chris wasn't able to stop in time and he ended up falling ten feet into the crater, and broke is arm and got scrapped up pretty good "Oh damn... this must be the end". Then the Golden Griffin landed right above the crater "Well...well what do we have here, did you really think you could escape from me. Well I will just make it short and kill you now!" The Golden Griffin Opened his third eye once again getting ready to kill Chris, right as the gold orb in his pocket started to glow "What the...oh well there is no time to waste", Chris graped the gold orb out of his pocket and read the inscription "Ye who possess the divine Element of power shall destroy all evil that dwells","I don't know what it means but I have a gut feeling this might help". The Golden Griffin's Third eye was about to fire the beam of light right when Chris threw the gold orb at the Third eye, unforunteaely the gold orb didn't make it all the way up to the Golden Griffin and it just fell back down. " Well good bye everyone", right then the Golden Griffin shot the beam of light at Chris. Right before the beam hit him the gold orb shot up into the sky and shot out and gold shield around Chris, then the gold orb shot several beams of light at the Golden Griffin and blasted him back. Then the shield faded and the gold orb dropped back to the ground and broke in many pieces, " Wow, what just happen", Chris looked around to see if there was someway to get out of the crater and he saw a ledge he could use to climb to the top, but of course it wouldn't be easy with a broken arm. When He got to the top the Golden Griffin was lying about 7 feet away from the crater " Damn that orb really blasted him, I wonder if he is dead", Chris stood there and looked at the Golden Griffin, and he did't seem to be alive. "Well I think its over now... thank god!". Chris started to walk away from the Golden Griffin's body " I should probably go to the hospital, but I better not tell them what happen",as he was walking away the ground shook and there was a flash of gold light "What the fuck!". "Good job Chris none of my victims have ever put up that much of a fight, but enough play, time for me to eat your soul", Chris looked everywhere and didn't see the Golden Griffin, then all of a sudden the ground busted open right in front of him blowing Chris back,knocking him into a tree. There stood the Golden Griffin in front of Chris, standing tall and more evil then ever. 2
