blind assasin chapter 6: arguments

"itachi." i growled. i heard him chuckle, but i bit my lip and said,
"shut up, i dont want to make you laugh today, or ever. your a bastard!" it was all silent, neither of us talking. i wished so much that i could see, but i knew i couldnt. finally,
"you've grown up, Oni." itachi said, and he sounded almost hurt.2

i nodded and said,
"what do you want, why am i in the akatsuki base?" i knew i had to be in the akatsuki base, it only made sense.
"okay, i want to talk." he said, sitting down. i crossed my arms and turned my head.
"Oni, i know i left, but you had saskue didnt you?" he said, trying to reason.3

i glared at him and yelled,
"but i wanted you, too! you left me all alone itachi, im blind! you left saskue, who was the same age as me, to take care of me all alone! you left..." i stopped, feeling tears coming on.
"im sorry..."itachi said, but i shook my head and said,
"you dont get it, you were one half of my world, and you left me. i waited up all night that night trying to find out what i did wrong to make you kill everyone like that!"4

"you didnt do ANYTHING Oni, nothing at all! can i explain, please?" itachi said, his voice pleading. i sat back, waiting for him to talk.
"the hokage gave me the orders, Oni, our family was going to wage war on the leaf village and kill everyone. only you and saskue could possibly be spared!" he said. i relaxed in shock, trying to find out why our family would want to wage war in the first place.5

"i had no choice but to leave you, and it was the hardest thing ever, Oni, im so sorry!" itachi said, and i could hear his voice crack. i felt a tear fall from my face, but i wasnt gonna burst out in tears, not here.
"saskue left, too." i whispered.
"what?!"itachi exclaimed in shock.6

i nodded and said,
"he went to orochimaru, itachi. i've been all alone for the past two and a half years." i felt itachi hug me and say,
"i wont leave you ever again, i promise."
"dont break it this time, okay?" i asked, and i laughed, making him laugh, too.7

i spent the next week in the akatsuki base until they finally had a meeting. the leader(pain) came in(i had my sharingan on) and said,
"were gonna let you go, but on one condition." i raised an eyebrow and he said,
"we want you to tell the leaf village that we want to stop the akatsuki."9

i almost choked on nothing at this and i blurted,
"why, you guys are like, all powerful right?" pain laughed and said,
"well, were getting tired of this life-style and we all want to go back to our villages." i shrugged at this wonderful fortune and said,
"alright, but itachi comes with me."10

the next step happened alittle too fast, so let me explain it to you. when i got told the leaf village the akatsuki's plan, they agreed and within a month or so the ninja were back in their village, no longer s-ranked criminals. itachi and i now lived togeather, but we still had oro to deal with.12

i walked down the street, grateful for itachi's hand to hold so i didnt have to activate sharingan or trip.
"the village hasnt changed a bit." itachi said, walking down past the ramen shop. i nodded and said,
"yup, only we have that new hokage, tsunade."
"yeah, i heard about her."itachi said, pulling me out of the way of a few people.13

"hey, Oni-chan, itachi-kun!" i heard sakura call.
"sakura! hi!" i called, and i stopped with itachi as she ran up to us.
"glad to see you have your brother here, and we'll get saskue back, dont you worry!" she said, sounding bubbly.
"thanks sakura, were is naruto?" i asked.14

"were he always is, with kakashi-sensei in the training feild." sakura answered, then was on her way.
"can we go visit him, please?" i asked itachi. he laughed and said,
"alright, fine."15

we met them right were sakura said, and naruto and kakashi were welcoming to itachi.
"sup, itachi!" naruto said, running up to us.
"hello, jin-..i mean naruto." itachi said, making me laugh.
"hi naruto, how are you?" i asked him, and he said,
"im fine, but i'll be even better when i can see all three uchihas back togeather!"16

"four." i corrected, remembering uncle obito, who decided to travel around instaead of coming back.
"oh well, what ever." kakashi said, and he messed up my hair and commented,
"did you grow a foot in the akatsuki base?"
"i know, i dont remember her being so tall myself." itachi teased.17

"oh, shut up you guys." i said. i was happy on the outside, but on the inside i was pondering what would happen next week when me, itachi, naruto, sakura, sai, and kakashi went to go get saskue. i zoned out of the conversation until i heard kakashi mention orochmaru.
"we got news of oro yesterday, and you'll never guess what." kakashi told us.18

"what?" i asked, excited.
"saskue killed him." was kakashi's blunt response. itachi squeezed my hand and said,
"wich makes it all that much eaisier. next week we'll be a family again, Oni." i knew it wouldnt be that simple. it wasnt.
