Scene 12

Sweeper: I am just an ordinary sweeper in this area… but I have a feeling extraordinary things are going to take place here... great things are being planned with people with golden hearts…3

Land owner: So what are you folks planning to do...? Some social awareness scheme you promised me, but what exactly?4

Camp Manager: We are going to run a camp for special needs children... especially for autistic children...5

Land owner: A summer camp for autisms? Kids looking after kids? DO you have any idea what you are doing?6

Camp Manager: I’m sure they’ll manage just fine... 7

Land owner:  And what about the food?8

Camp manager: vegetarian… the seniors are cooking… though we are yet to check if anyone is allergic to anything…9

Land Owner:  u people be careful about what you are about… well autistic kids… they are different…   10

Camp manager: Remember they are different? That is the exactly same thing I want to change in these kids lives…. One small thing can make a huge difference to people like them… and it will be good to raise some awareness...11

Sweeper: Well there has been a long time since this land has been put to noble cause and a lot of work needs to be done… 12

Scene 213

Sweeper: The days fly by and the special needs children are arriving in the camp, silent prayers are being said... as secret hopes of making a difference bloom... they seem to be dealing well together….14

Mom: She is very hyper-sensory... so you need to take care of bright lights, loud sounds... scratchy fabrics...15

Camp manager: Yes ma’am, we understand...  16

Camp Manager: And her name is....?17

Lady1: It is Rita... it is for the first time I’m leaving her in the care of some one else like this...18

Camp Manager: Don’t worry ma’am we’ll take care.... 19

Camp Manager: Here’s the kid you are in charge off... she is hyper-sensory... I hope you know what that means.... 20

Hyper H:  my name is _____________. We are going to be friends.21

Hyper kid: friends?22

Hyper H: yes friends... 23

Camp manger: What have I gotten into...? This is a bad start... maybe I should have had more qualifies experts around... but these kids aren’t stupid... I hope they’ll be able any more situations like this... 24

Scene 325

Space handler: My name is _________. And yours?26

Space handler: What are your hobbies? Do u draw or sing?27

Space handler: you are thinking of home is that it?28

Space handler: Maybe a hug will make you feel better...29

Space handler: do you want a chocolate..? I have more....30

Hyper H: Still no luck?31

Space handler: That kid is like... totally spaced out.... 32

Echolia H: Don’t worry dude... it’ll take time... But slowly they’ll realize... I had repeated my name like ever 5 minutes to one kid... it just takes a bit of patience....33

Car H: U now there was this super awesome kid who could say the names of absolutely any car picture I showed him... but besides that he can say only want and no...34

Space h: I need to check up on that kid... 35

Te crowd disperses with assorted excuses....36

Scene 437

Sweeper: As the days wear on, the handlers are getting to know their wards better and better... but each new day with it brings new problems... its either seizures or tantrums… but I get proud watching the way the kids handle the situation…38

Hyper H: It’s the light isn’t it? Is it hurting your eyes? Let’s take you outside and see if things get better… 39

Echolia H: Why don’t you try drawing a house?40

Echolia kid: Draw house?41

Echolia H: yeah, you know what is drawing right?42

Echolia kid: Draw?43

Echolia kid: Takes a crayon and paper places kid’s hand over it and teaches him/her...>44

Basketball handler: hey... you can’t do that... 45

Car H: Oi... How come only you people get to play? 46

Camp Manager: Hey what is happening here? You people will distract the younger kids... if you want to keep the game outside...47

Space handler: do you want to draw?  no? Then do you want to go outside and play basketball like the others?48

Hyper H: She really put her heart and soul into that kid... I don’t even understand how they can become so attached even without communicating with each other...49

Echolia h: If I know Space h ... well... that kid is some how going to start talking by the time he leaves...50

Narrator:  Morning flows into evening… now I cant even make out who are the volunteers and who are the wards... they all just seem to be doing everything together…51

Camp manager: We are going to have a reading session now... 52

Chatterbox:  53

Echolia H: In your application you said you needed to learn to read... but I don’t see your problem...54

Chatterbox:  no that is not it... I don’t understand what I am reading....55

echolia H: what is that you don’t understand?56

Space H: everything... you tell me the cat sat on the wall… I don’t know what a cat or is or what a wall is…57

Space H: I knew there was something to this kid I did not know... this is simply brilliant....58

so u like drumming? Yes? Do you have small drum set for your self at home? My friends and I have formed a band and I am the drummer for it...59

Car kid: Me want!60

Car H: well it’s not your turn yet so you can’t have the book...61

Car kid: But me want!! 62

Chatterbox: Do you know that...63

Echolia H: arrghh!! You and your do you knows...  how did you collect so much information...?64

K4: that is my greatest problem... I remember but I do not understand.... give me a couple of quiz books... I’ll remember everything perfectly… but twist one question and ask… I just won’t understand…65

Scene 566

Hyper H: See I told you they will find a way to communicate...67

Echolia H: You said they kid with talk not through drums....68

Hyper H: But still....69

Space H: that kid is like awesome with the drums... I wish we can get him a real drum set or something....70

Car kid handler: You’re floating on cloud number nine aren’t you?71

Space H: Yeah... actually...72

Hyper H: It’s kind of sad though... knowing that most of them won’t remember us for more than a week...73

Echolia H: whether they remember us or not... I’ll always remember those little angels... and the older ones...74

Hyper H: there are so many of the older kids who know that something I wrong with them and they have gone through tough times... but they always manage to remain so cheerful...75

Car H: And that was the kid who did not want to be touched in the beginning.... 76

Space H: I can’t believe tomorrow is like our last day together.... let’s go back and check on the kids...77

Scene 678

Space H: ma’am your son is incredibly talented.... get him a drum set and he’ll be a rock star in no time at all...79

L1: Thank you dear for looking after him... very few people recognizes his talents...80

Echolia H: Sir I would you daughter memory is just awesome... try giving her a quiz books and she’ll be world famous in no time at all.... 81

S1: You Children are making such a big difference in their lives... I’ve never seen her so happy before....82

Car H: How is the world does he no the name of so many cars?83

L2: those were the only things I could get him to talk about... but now he is learning maths with cars also....84

Camp manager: So things did work out all right....85

Land owner: I guess I did underestimate the power of these kids… to have mad a difference in the life of one person is so great… but to have changed the lives of so many and to have learned from it… well that is something great…86

Camp manager: Sometimes you don’t need to be qualified to show that you care…87

Land Owner: This is one valuable lesson I will take with myself to the grave….88

Space kid returns and hugs space H and says the only word throughout the play… “Bye!”89
