The day everything went downhill: chapter seven

David went back up to the hospital hoping they'd let him in this time. They did! The driver of the ambulance got somewhat curious when he never showed up, so he went to the desk to ask if he had. He then explained to the lady working at the desk that when he came back, she was to send him directly to his mothers room. She did. When David got to his moms room, she was sitting up in the bed, crying. David walked over to her, sat down next to her, and put his arm around her. He held her like she had held him the night when Amber died. 1

David didn't know what to do. He still wanted to break down crying, but he was more angry then wanting to cry. He went and talked to the doctors. The doctor wanted to "keep her for observation." Was what he said. David knew he was hiding something. There was a lot more to the story then he was actually showing or telling David. David went home to let the dog out and just try and calm down a little bit. He fell asleep in the living room.......................2

In this dream, David and Amber were at a family gathering of her families. The first one, David was formally introduced to everyone. He was feeling quite overwhelmed and had to get away from everyone, so he went to the basement. That was the place he and Amber first kissed. It was the place they went when they wanted to get away from the world, but didn't mind having the other one nearby. David just sat there thinking. After awhile, Amber came down and sat next to him. They just sat there and reminisced. The first thing they both said was the kiss. They always remembered it and always would. After they'd been down there for a good amount of time, Amber's mom called them up for food. They replayed the kiss as they did every time they left that room. It was just their room. 3

................................His dog scratching on the back door and barking woke him up. David looked at the clock. He fell asleep for a good five hours. He thought right away about his mom. He looked at the phone and realized there were five missed calls. They were all from the hospital. Different numbers or lines of course. He called one of them back. No answer. He really began to worry about his mom when the last number he called was the same as the rest, no answer. David quickly put his dog in the kennel and rushed to the hospital. 4
