In Absence : Prologue

I turn and look back at the asylum, burning in the distance. Every few seconds an explosion can be seen coming from one of the various wings. Focusing my eyes I can see bodies and limbs flying out. People running out of the entrance on fire, roasting alive. I'm a monster. I'm disgusting. I am the very definition of filth. I am a vampire, not angel nor demon. I deserve to die.

This was done very well and you let the reader let a little of what to expect in the rest of the chapters and you did not release to much information.

You did use a part that will hook the reader to want to find out more and that will be up to you on how you want to go from here. This was a very good start and though short it did what it was suppose to do. So there you go . please continue and thanks it was good to read.
