Just before the bend of the freeway, two college guys holding a sign that read, “STATE COPS AHEAD”. What a helpful thing to do, I thought. I immediately sped up, sometimes they give tickets for driving 45 on the freeway. A few minutes later the two young men were ticketed for obstructing justice…go figure. 2

This was a 55 word story contest... Obviously I didn't win.
This really happened in Olympia, Washington near where I-16 starts off I-5. Sure makes a person wonder, huh.
What did you think? Please comment!

They can be considered lucky for only getting tickets. With the new freedom act they could have been charged with terrorism for showing bad guys where the good guys were, charged with a felony and sent off to prison.
Yep, people would be surprised at all the power the gov now has under
this new law. If they want your place they can just come in and take it.
They don't even need a legit excuse and there isn't anything you can do
about it. Sad, but true... -
In Australia people in oncoming
vehicles flash their lights to warn of State Cops ahead. However, the police overcame their revenue raising efforts: a police cyclist was placed some way from the Radar and booked more than the radar got: reason? Obstruction of justice!
However, if figures show the lessening of accidents the real charge should be: Interference with the saving of lives, ultimately.
However, Dee, I know how you felt/feel.

A moment.. Captured. More like these?

Yes I have heard they do!
What a good little story. Perhaps if they had phrased their sign with a little more diploymacy. Happy Spring Time.

For some reason it keeps telling me there's 'no comment' when I try to applaud your comment, so doesn't accept the applause. I'll try again later and in the meantime here's some
for you
Thanks for your comment and also for the nice one you left on my guestbook

Thank you, pozo. I tend to agree with you about governments a great deal of the time. You'd think they would appreciate a little help in slowing speeders, wouldn't you.

Thats freaking hillarious! Can they ticket them for that? Damn youd think it would fall under freedom of speech or something.
If that were me though, I'd think the story I could tell forever was worth the price of the ticket!beginning: 5, plot: 5, ending: 5.

That is too funny! I wonder if they were from Evergreen it seems the kind of thing a gueduck would do don't you think!
You have brought humor to this competition and that is a good thing.
Not every moment is somber or the greatest day of our life, but life is made up of moments such as these as well.
thank You
