I get the bus home. As usual, my little sister Lucy's already home. I open the big blue door with my set of keys, and knock on the white door. A few seconds later Lucy open's the door and then she runs back up the stairs. I sigh and shut the door, turning the lock and go to my bedroom. Dumping my black school bag on the floor of my bedroom, I go into the bathroom.1
When I go up the stairs, The OC's on and Lucy's got a bagel and tea in front of her. I raid the cupboard for afternoon tea, and pull out a bag of Golden Crunch biscuits, putting them on the coffee table. 2
The laptop's sitting on the table with the power-pack on top, and I plug it in, and start up the computer. Lucy starts telling me about something that happended in her class today. 3
Once Lucy's seen three episodes of The OC, she starts doing the jigsaw on the end of the table. I put the end of my MAGS scarf by my nose, my habit. 4
I suddenly get up and go down to my bedroom, grabbing my Ipod that's on the floor next to my bed. As soon as I press play, the songs flood through the room, and I turn it up so it's pretty loud. 5
Latte, our cat, is sitting where she always is; on the back on the couch, either curled up in a ball or sitting like the Sphinx of Eygpt. She cat-smiles, and her creamy-blonde fur looks better than it has for a few days. Mum took her to the vet, and he said Latte has gum diesease and has a bit of mangy fur.6
The phone phone rings and Lucy gets it.7
"Mum'll be home at six. She said she's going to get Hell's Pizza on the way home," She tells me, going back to the jigsaw. I wiggle my eyebrows as if to say 'kay'. We both laugh and I go back to what I was doing on the computer.8
I'm still in my uniform. I can never be bothered getting changed out of it after school, so I sometimes just stay into it until Mum tells me to get changed. Mum hates it when I'm in my uniform for dinner because she thinks I'll get food or something on it. But whenever she says "Gemma, you're not in your uniform, are you?" I always say, "No," And I go downstairs, doing as she says.9
"Nufinggg..." I say randomly. 10
"Do you want our pizza that we always get?" Lucy asks me.11
I wiggle my eyebrows and say, "Maybe I do, maybe I don't." In The Massie Voice.12
"Rudie Rudie!" I announce in a high-pitched voice. I push the wooden chair back and go back to the cupboard, still hungry after a day at high-school.13
I get out a bagel, shove it in the toaster, and get out butter and cream cheese. While I'm waiting for it to cook, I text.14
"Who's chock is this?" I ask, looking in the cupboard.15
"Not mine," Lucy says, looking up. She catches my eye. "Don't you dare eat it. That's sod; Mum comes home, feeling like chock, and sees someone's eaten it," She says the last bit in the sad voice.16
I smile, half-laughing, and my bagel pops up. When I sit back down, a song comes on that I don't feel like listening to. "Change," I announce. Lucy sighs, gets up and changes the song for me.
"Fank-yow. Oo-oh-oo," I say back.17
The front door opens and Mum comes in. "Hi, guys," She says, walking up the stairs in her high-heels. "Pizzas," She says, putting them on the marble bench and walking back downstairs to get changed. Me and Lucy get plates and drinks and sit up at the bench on the barstools, and putting slices of pizza onto our plates.
