Rain Washes Everything Clean

It begins to rain and he does nothing. Not even bothering to put up the hood on his black hoodie. All he does is curl his legs up to his chest and rest his head upon his knees.11

It’s raining hard and he’s not moving one bit. I start getting scared. What if he gets sick? What if he freezes to death, all because of me?22

Damn it, why does he have to be so fucking stubborn? Why do I have to be so fucking stubborn, too?33

I put on my jacket. It won’t keep me warm and dry for long but I don’t need a lot of time. I just need to get him either in his car or in the house.44

Grabbing my paled umbrella and step outside taking a deep breath. I move quickly to where he’s sitting on his car. His legs to his chest, his head burned down. His black hood protecting him, now up, not even, from the rain.55

He’s so deep in thought he doesn’t even notice I’m standing right there. Watching him, fearing for him.66

“You’re going to get sick?” Joey’s head flies up quickly. At first I can tell he is startled by the way his blue eyes narrow but the moment he sees it’s me, he relaxes. A lazy grin over takes his lips and his eyes turn sweet. God, how I’ve missed those eyes so much.77

“Don’t care.” He mutters softly. His happy expression is gone into a frown that I hate. It tears me apart to see him like this.88

I shift uncomfortable, my shoes filling with water. We can’t talk like this, in the cold rain.99

“Come inside.” Joey shook his head. 1010

“What are you doing here, Joey?” His eyes shifted up staring straight into mine. I could feel my body melting from his gaze. 1111

“I wanna talk.” His voice is low and soft. I can hear the pain in his once husky voice.1212

“Then talk.” The only thing I seem to be able to say.1313

“I’m so sorry, Jeremy.” His perfect blue eyes begin to swell up with tears. The sound of my name on his lips sends a shutter through my body.1414

“I didn’t mean for things to go this far with us.” So he didn’t want me, that’s good to know.1515

Screw him! “Thanks for the apology, bye.” I turn to leave. He can freeze to death, I don’t care.1616

I hear the sound of steps against the puddle filled drive way. “Wait, please.” His hand grabs my arm making me shudder again.1717

I hate that when he touches me I feel this way. I don’t want to feel good when he touches me.1818

“What?” I turn back to look at him. His hands fall to his side. He looks so innocent, like a child. My heart flutters at the sight of him.1919

“Tell me what’s going through your head.” I plead.2020

“You frustrate me.” His husky voice has come back.2121

“How so? How do I frustrate you?” I drop my umbrella not caring if I get wet. My hands are shaking and I really don’t want to hold anything. Knowing if I did it would show how nervous I really was.2323

“I’m straight!” Joey screams out with frustration. “And I’m gay!” I shout back with equal frustration in my voice.2424

“I’m so happy we cleared that up.” I turn to leave again but he jumps in front of me.2525

“Wait.” His eyes pleading. God, why does he do this to me?!2626

“But with you I don’t know what I am.” Alright that’s a different answer then I expected. “Fuck!” He curses out loud.2727

He begins to pace back and forth. His hoodie had fallen and I see how soaked his hair really is.2828

The water has turned his brown hair almost black.2929

He stops moving and looks at me, forcing me to look into those pleading and sorrow filled eyes. “You make me feel things, I’ve never felt and that scares the shit out of me.” He whispers loud enough for me to hear.3030

“So what do you want?” I'm shivering now. The rain has drenched every part of my cloths and body.3131

Joey steps closer to me. His face only inches away from mine. 3232

I just want to jump at him and hold him tight but I wait. I can’t scare him off, I won’t scare him off.3434

“Having me tends to come with a price.” The price being bashed on and mocked for loving who I love and not caring.3535

His lips curl into a smile against mine. “I could say the same for myself.” I shut my eyes, his breath is to intoxicating. I feel as if I’m drunk and ready to pass out.3636

“You’re worth it. Even if you don’t believe that.” Joey whispers against my lips before pressing his own to mine.3737

His lips, so soft. The kiss is slow and passionate. I left my arms and wrap them around his neck pulling him as close as I can.3838

I gasp into the kiss at feel of his arms wrapped around my waist. He takes that gasp as an advantage to slip his tongue into my mouth.3939

He taste so much sweeter then I ever thought possible. Like if he had eaten some type of candy before coming over.4040

Joey feels so cold against me. I feel him shiver. I pull away, not really wanting but needing to. Lack of oxygen.4141

“You’re so cold from the rain.” I pull him closer trying to warm him up but it doesn’t work since I’m just as soaked as he is.4242

A small laugh slips from his perfect lips. “The rain washes everything clean.” He says before kissing me again.
