He'd come out and told everyone he was gay in year9. And though at first people were surprised, gradually people started to love his camp nature. He became one of the most popular guys in school, but still I was there with him. I was always there with him. We were best mates to the end and always would be. The guys laughed and teased Peter with his body which may seem harmless to some but I realised was slowly starting to take the mick out of him. It was dangerous being gay in such a small town like this, at parties you always had to stick round someone you knew in case any "chavs" were about.2
Parties were the main problem for him. He looked on with envy as I found lads easily and got to kiss them in front of everyone, showing of my catch. But not Peter, well he couldn't tell any lads he was gay, he couldn't kiss them in front of everyone there. I sometimes wondered to myself why he came to the dances, but I remember how much of a good mate he is. 3
He was always there having a dance with me, chatting with everyone and sometimes I think would that be a simpler way of life. If you just went to a party to dance and chat instead of looking for lad, waiting for the next one to come along. But then I look deep inside his eyes and I see the loneliness and the lust of what he could never have.4
This barn dance was different though. I led Peter silently through the crowd, dancing happily to the music as I went along. It didn't take me long to find him. He was a large lad, only 15 but way over 6 foot and his greasy black hair shone brightly as the disco lights flashed all around us. His bright blue eyes sparkled happily as he spotted me and he ran over to give me a massive hug. I felt myself disappearing into his large chest, but felt comforted like I was always safe as I stayed there for a minute. I clung on to Peter's hand and slowly dragged him towards Chris...5
"Chris this is Peter, the guy I told you about!" I shouted above the music. Peter shuffled nervously, but Chris gave his a wide grin and winked at him.6
"Wow! He's well hot!" Cris grunted over the music. And with that Chris took his hand off mine, and as I saw Peter's little hand disappear into Chris' massive paw I knew that they made the perfect couple. I knew I had re payed Peter for standing by me even though he could of just have stayed home alone. And with that I grinned happily to myself and started dancing to the music, loneliness never hit me. I was me, Louise. I'd finally defiantly done something good.7
Author notes
This is just about how people around here really did accept Peter-they just didn't accept him kissing or doing anything like that in front of them. This is just a little story from the book of my life which I rember clearly because I know that it can be hard about certain things like this that we take for granted.

"Cris grunted over the music." 'Chris' i think you meant
"I knew I had re payed Peter for standing by me even though he could of just have stayed home alone." 'repaid' rather than 're payed'
Wow, that really sucked that Peter had to go through that for such a long time. But it's such a good thing that you, Louise, did something about it. A great mate, through and through. Good write, definitely brought a grin to my face. -
Aww thanx x Me and Peter are still happy+hopefully will keep bein. I hate it when people discrimintate against people or prejudge them just because they're different! I love different people-it makes the World less borin!

Wow, this story is so good. I really like it. It's so sweet, I love how Louise played the matchmaker. In life, I feel like Peter, but enough about me, you did an excellent job.
Wonderful job and do keep up the good work.
