The day everything went downhill: chapter four

His mother just stood there dumbfounded. She had never heard David say anything to this extent, at least not to her. She couldn't even think of what to reply with. She just stood there.1

'YOU KNOW ALL HE DOES IS GO OUT, SPEND YOUR WELL EARNED MONEY TO GET DRUNK, THEN GO OUT AND HAVE SEX WITH THE NEXT GIRL HE SEES...'2

She still just stood there, both not knowing what to say and realizing this was the moment everything was going to fall apart with their family.3

'MOM, WHY IS THIS SO HARD FOR YOU TO SEE? I'VE BEEN KEEPING MY MOUTH SHUT FOR TOO LONG. HE'S WORTHLESS. HE'S A PIECE OF TRASH. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME WE ALL WENT OUT FOR A NICE DINNER? WHEN WAS THE LAST FAMILY VACATION WE WENT ON? WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME HE ACTUALLY SHOWED HE CARED ABOUT US MOM? THINK OF THAT!'4

And with that, David walked out of the house and slammed the door. 5

Melissa, his mother, just stood there, she'd had some idea that this was going on for some time, but never wanted to think of it, never wanted it to be a reality. She couldn't handle the thought of her family being torn apart by him. She looked down at him, passed out on the couch. Was he worth all of this? 6

David by now had gotten a couple miles away. He had no one to turn to. He truly needed Amber. She was the only one who had known his thoughts of his father. Now she wasn't even around to tell what he had just done. He went to her house and talked to Amber's mom, Johnna for awhile. After that, he just went up to her room and sat on her bed taking everything in and remembering better times they had...........7

It was just David and Amber getting ready for prom as Juniors. Amber looked beautiful. She wore a teal dress with her brunette hair all up and what was left down curled. She looked like an angel. They went to the most expensive restaurant in town. He always treated Amber well and wanted to take her to this place prior, but had to save it just for this night. Amber knew it was going to be one night she'd never forget. This was also the night David knew he wanted to be with her and only her for the rest of his life. She was 'The One'8

.....................................He had been sitting there for a while and his cell rang. He couldn't understand how it got into his pocket considering he never grabbed it. It was his mom. She was frantically screaming and yelling and David could barely understand what she was saying. Then it went dead on the other line.9
