You and you

To my two lovelies, you and you1

I send this poem of love2

You're not here yet,3

but soon will be, 4

and we can hardly wait.5

A special bond 6

you two will have7

as twins most certainly do.8

Parents wonder what's ahead9

in all the years to come.10

We're anxious and excited11

to have you both arrive.12

And when you do13

I know we'll all 14

do very well and thrive.15

One day you'll read 16

this little poem 17

of love and anxiousness.18

And then you'll know19

just how we felt back then20

about the both of you..21

Author notes

Twins are anticipated with apprehension and wonder.  Just a little something for them to read some day.

Very sweet, only thing for me is the flow seems broken by the anticipation of rhyme when read. Some things rhyme while others don't, and it just seems to be statements at whim. Its very sweet and something to cherish, and I agree I wouldn't change it because of that nature, I was just giving my two cents on the actual content. Keep penning, I'll read more

awwww! how cute. this is a very sweet piece and i think when the twins read it, they will be very touched! is this the way it feels to have children? i'm kinda unexperienced about that (i'm sixteen, so maybe that's a good thing). gee, i hope i have kids someday! great write and keep up the great work!

    A jewel

Not my favorite of yours, but it is like a little Keepsake Box, a time capsule for the kids. I almost always advise a rewrite, but in this case, you should wrap it up like a present to save, savor and send on.

Wonderful I loved it. And that for me is entirely true, I might have twins, but I'm scared yet anxious to hold them. I wonder what they will be like, and the simple apprehension of just having a baby. Great job and good luck.
