I seek what most men seek,1
A means of living to sustain life,2
A reason to live, for being alive,3
For nought is triumphant without motivation.4
5
This fleeting journey is flashing past,6
Some go about it timidly, some boldly,7
I've chosen what I deem practical,8
To be rid off off poverty, to live righteously.9
10
My beliefs in tune with my aspirations,11
It has always been what I dreamt of achieving,12
A balance between abstaining and succumbing to temptations13
To believe in romanticism yet be grounded by religion.14
15
I've chosen what I deemed essential,16
A career driven not by passion,17
But a career to drive my passion,18
The ultimate tool for my future endeavours.19
20
I wish to reach out to the world,21
To assist in charitable acts that glorify mankind,22
To achieve immortality through philantropy,23
To taste the satisfactions of an unsung hero.24
25
Thus I shall not wait around,26
With my own two hands, I shall and I will,27
'Sieze the day' as they flit past,28
This is my testimonial to the world.29

Carpe diem!

I penned this immediately after I watched the 1989 film DEAD POETS SOCIETY.
