The city was in turmoil. People ran for their lives, screaming, as chunks of buildings shattered around them. What could make them run so frantically? It was none other than the CYBORG RIVER OF DEATH. Half river, half robot, it was a terrifying sight to behold.1
"Run away from the river!" screamed one man.2
"Row, row, row your boat," hissed the river as it obliterated another building. Suddenly, the river looked up in terror. An enormous helicopter descended on it, releasing two tons of wet cement. The cement instantly hardened, stopping the River in its tracks. The helicopter landed and out stepped John McCracken and General Chet Busterfield, amidst cheers. John looked up at the remains of the dead river.3
"I guess beauty killed this beast," John said softly.4
"No, son," said Chet, patting John on the shoulder, "No, it was wet cement."
Author notes
This story took me several hours to write. If it was able to touch you, in some small way, that's enough.

How does this touch your life?

To me, I'm sorry to say, I didn't understand the plot that well and it was not very descriptive. I don't mean to make you feel bad though. I'm glad you entered the contest, and I hope you continue to write.

I can't say it touched my life
in anyway. It's very unusual and I really like the ending.
It isn't always Beauty that kills the Beast.
