Trapped (A soccer ball's POV)

She was kicking me around just like she usually does when she gets back from school. Her feet sounded like horse hooves on the ground because of those shoes she always wears. They're way too big for her. They are even becoming old and worn out. Just like me. 1

I would've been tossed into the trash, unwanted. Her parents always insist on getting her a new soccer ball. One that's less old and beat up. It makes me nervous, but she always says 'No thanks, dad. This is my lucky ball. I wouldn't be able to play the same without it.' 2

"Jess!" said her friend Amy. "I was just looking for you! Wanna come see a movie with me?"3

"Sure thing! I'll be out in just a second I have to change clothes," said Jess. She walked up the steps to her porch and went inside. I saw the Amy girl smiling. Wait why was she smiling? Her arms extended and grabbed me. 4

"My team is gonna totally cream Jess's when she can't practice with her favorite ball," her friend said before stuffing me into some kind of alley. She doesn't seem like such a friend to me! What if Jess never finds me? What if her parents replace me like they've been wanting to for so long? 5

How I wish I could talk. I wish I could move and be free to roam the world. I wish I could move by myself, instead of being stuck in a....What do they call it? A coma. Ya! That's it, a coma! I know the word because I remember Jess talking about how her sister is in a coma. She always talks to me, like she can tell I'm listening. 6

She told me something about not telling anyone, because she doesn't want them to pity her. Poor Jess. I wish her sister wasn't in a coma, trapped inside a body she can't control. Please, god take her sister out of the coma! I'll do anything you want, anything! Please!7

"Amy? Where's my soccer ball?" I heard Jess say. Her friend started to say something but she was interupted. 8

"Jess! Your sisters out of the coma!" her mom shouted happily. Jess jumped up and down with joy getting in the car to go see her sister. Amy just stood there getting a sad expression on her face, then leaving. I lay here in this alley, forgotten. It's ok with me though, because her sisters awake. I guess god answers prayers for more than just people.
