How Can He See Through Me? ///Chapter Three///

“Oh my god! This is amazing!” I squealed looking at my new piercing. Skye laughed and shook her head amused with me.1

“So you like it then.” she guessed. I nodded and did a mental happy dance. I loved my Monroe, ok loved is an understatement. I absolutely adored it! I was so lucky to have moved here and met Skye. She was now officially my new best friend. Austin grinned and touched my arm.2

“You look totally ho-”3

“Austin, shut your mouth!” Rachel snapped angrily. Austin’s hand jumped from my arm, and he turned to Rachel. Austin said4

“Rache, I’m just kidding. Come on baby.”5

“Don’t call me that.” Rachel said walking down the stairs6

“Rachel, come back.” Austin whined running down the stairs after her. Kevin shook his head amused with the two of them and said7

“What Austin meant was it suits you.” I smiled at him and immediately regretted it.8

“Ow!” I whined. He chuckled, and Jason shook his head at me.9

“We told you your face would be sore.”10

“But do you listen to us?” Alexander asked with a sarcastic tone11

“No.” they cooed in unison12

“Ah, give it a break.” Skye said waving her hand at them. She turned to me and took my face to inspect my Monroe…again. “I’m pretty sure I did it correctly.”13

“It looks fine.” Alexander said looking over her shoulder. She wrinkled her nose and after twenty seconds or so, she nodded.14

“It’s good. Remember it will be sore for a little while, you might want to eat softish foods.” Skye said15

“Why?” I asked curiously16

“Cause you don’t want to have to move your mouth too much.” she replied. I nodded understanding, and Skye headed for the stairs. “Let’s go eat children, I’m starving.”17

“Shut up already.” Jason said leading Alexander down the stairs by the hand. I looked towards Kevin and smiled slightly.18

“I guess we better not keep them waiting.” he said with a grin. I nodded agreeing and walked down the stairs ahead of him.19

“By the way…” I looked back at him, and he gave me a ‘finish what you were saying’ look. “Thanks for holding my hand.” He chuckled and nodded.20

“No biggie, if it helped then I’m glad I held your hand.” he said with a smile. I felt a blush tinting my cheeks and turned my face away from him. I’d only known the guy for about an hour and I already had a huge crush on him; this was so weird. We headed down the hallway together and out the door into the backyard. Skye was already looking over the food that was set out and waved me over to her. I sighed and bounced over to her side.21

“Yes your majesty?” I asked with a small bow. She rolled her eyes and slapped me upside the head playfully.22

“I would recommend you eat, this this and this.” she said pointing out the foods. I nodded and grabbed the food she had pointed out to me. We all grabbed what we wanted and headed back over to the little ‘anti-social’ place we wanted to sit. Of course my mom just had to notice my brand new piercing.23

“London.” I looked towards her, and she beckoned me over. I rolled my eyes, and Kevin took my plate from my hands.24

“I’ll take it for you.” he said with a smile25

“Thankies, I’ll be right back.” I said sweetly. I walked over to my mom, and she glared at me.26

“What did I tell you about that tattoo parlor?” she growled27

“I didn’t go to a tattoo parlor to get it done though.” I explained “One of my new friends did it for me.” Her glare deepened, and I crossed my arms stubbornly.28

“Take it out.” she ordered29

“No.” I argued “Can I go eat now?” She nodded, but I could tell from the look she gave me she wasn’t done with this; not by a long shot. I headed back over to my friends, and plopped down in my place in-between Skye and Kevin. “Thanks.” I said taking the plate from Kevin30

“No problem.” he said with a shrug31

“So what’d your mom want?” Rachel asked slapped Austin’s hand away from her leg32

“To complain about my piercing.” I replied33

“Why?” Alexander asked curiously “Does she not like it?” I shook my head and took a bite of my macaroni and cheese.34

“She hates it, hates everything about me actually.” I replied35

“Dude, she sounds like your parents Kevin.” Austin said looking at Kevin. Kevin nodded agreeing with him and sighed.36

“Oh well, we’ll just have to play rebellion on their asses.” I giggled and nodded in agreement. He smirked to himself, and Jason groaned. “What?” Kevin asked confused37

“Your brothers are heading this way.” Jason replied. Kevin lowered his head and began playing with his snakebites. He looked really uncomfortable at the mention of his brothers. I looked over slightly and saw that Jason was right, they were coming over this way. The only thing was all their friends, plus my brothers, were with them. I lowered my head and mentally complained. My brothers were going to say something to insult my new friends, I knew they were. They always did.38

“So this is your sister.” one of them said “God she’s just like your brother Dustin.”39

“You guys are so weird.”40

“Stupid emo kids.” Skye glared at the ground and snapped her head at them.41

“Why don’t you guys just shut your fucking mouths and leave us the hell alone.” she growled42

“This is my house you know.” Chad said crossing his arms over his chest43

“We can make you leave if we want.” Dustin said with a smirk44

“Go for it!” Skye said angrily “I dare you.”45

“Skye, stop it.” Kevin said quietly. She turned in his direction and let out a sigh. “Let’s just head up to my room guys.” We all nodded, stood up, and headed around them into the house. Before we went in Skye just had to flip them off, I thought it was rather funny. We headed up the stairs, passed the bathroom, and into the room at the end of the hall. It was pretty cool actually. There were a bunch of band posters all over the walls, he had a drum set in the corner of his room, an assortment of furniture, a queen size bed, the walls were painted a dark grey, and he had a wooden floor; his room was just so cool.46

“Welcome to the world of Kevin’s room.” Jason said trying to lighten the mood. Rachel sighed sadly and actually allowed Austin to hold her. This was the only physical contact I’d seen her try to make with him, besides hitting him a couple of times. I guess she had a soft heart or something.47

“Gosh, those guys are such jerks.” Skye complained grabbing a slinky off Kevin’s dresser48

“We know Skye.” Alexander said with a sigh “We can’t do anything about it though.”49

“Why don’t we ever do anything about them?” Austin asked stroking Rachel’s hair50

“Because we’re wimps.” she mumbled sadly51

“Shh.” he cooed. He held her closer to him and lightly kissed the top of her head. I smiled slightly and looked towards Kevin spinning his drumsticks in-between his fingers. I thought for a second and finally nodded to myself absentmindedly.52

“Well I think we should do something about it.” I said. Skye nodded and continued playing with the slinky.53

“I totally agree, but what can we do about them? We’re stuck.” she said with a sigh. I thought again and it clicked.54

“Do you guys have any balloons?” I asked curiously. They all gave me a confused look, and Kevin nodded.55

“Yeah, I have a bunch on my dresser. Why?” I smiled slightly and grabbed the package of balloons.56

“You’ll see.” I sang skipping out of the room. I went down the stairs into the kitchen, and began looking through the fridge for something extra yummy. ‘Chocolate and strawberry syrup…perfect.’ I grinned to myself and grabbed both the bottles. I grabbed a balloon, and stretched it out real quick. My masterpiece was about to be born. I filled half of it with chocolate syrup and the other half with strawberry. I quickly tied it and shook the balloon lightly so it wouldn’t bust. ‘Yeah! Score one for me.’ I did a quick happy dance and filled the rest of the balloons exactly the same way. After I had finished I grabbed a bowl to fill the balloons in and put away the syrup. I grabbed the bowl and headed back up the stairs. Everyone was going to get a real laugh out of this. “I’m back!” I sang. They all looked at me confused, and I handed Kevin his remaining balloons.57

“What was that all about?” he asked looking at the bowl of balloons58

“How much trouble would you get in for ‘accidentally’ dropping strawberry and chocolate filled balloons on your brothers?” I asked with an evil smirk. He grinned back and said59

“Let’s find out. You guys in?”60

“Hellz yeah.” Skye said putting down the slinky61

“Us too!” Alexander and Jason said in unison. Austin looked at Rachel, and she nodded enthusiastically.62

“Let’s do this thing.” We all ran down the hallway into Dustin’s room and out onto his balcony thing. We each grabbed two balloons and looked over the balcony down at all of them. “On three?” Austin suggested63

“Count it.” Rachel ordered64

“One…two…three!” We all dropped the balloons over their heads, and they all hit their target. A nice gooey mess of strawberry and chocolate landed on their heads.65

“Ah!”66

“What the hell?”67

“Ew, what is this shit?” We all laughed and high fived each other.68

“Bomb drop number two?” I asked. Skye nodded, and we dropped more balloons on their heads. ‘Splash.’ Another gooey mess made them realize it was coming from above them, because they looked up at us in shock. Yeah, they’re pretty smart aren’t they? NOT!!!69

“Hey you fucking emo kids!”70

“Get the hell down here!”71

“Run.” Alexander advised. We all ran out of Dustin’s room back into Kevin’s and locked the door. We all looked at each other and burst into uncontrollable laughter.72

“OMG I love this chick.” Jason said giving me a hug73

“You are amazing.” Skye said “You are officially my new best friend.” I smiled and looked at Kevin.74

“You really are one crazy girl.” he said. My smile faded hearing the monotone voice, but he broke into a fit of chuckles. “But that’s what I like about you.” I smiled again, and he gave me a one armed hug. “You and me are hanging out tomorrow fer sure.”75

“If we’re not grounded.” I said giggling76

“Yes, if we’re not grounded.” he agreed. A cell phone went off, and Jason groaned annoyed. He pulled it out of his pocket and flipped it open.77

“Hello? I’m at Kevin’s mom…do I have to? Alright alright, I’ll be home in a few minutes.” He closed his phone and kicked the wall annoyed.78

“Have to leave?” Rachel asked. He nodded and looked at Skye.79

“Come on sis, let’s head home.” She nodded, and I looked at them confused.80

“You guys are related?” I asked shocked. Skye giggled and nodded.81

“Yeah, we’re twins. Great isn’t it?” I nodded with a smile, and Alexander looked at Jason.82

“Is it alright if I walk you home?” Jason nodded and took his hand.83

“I’d like that.” Rachel giggled, and Austin put his arm around her shoulders. She looked at him hatefully for a second and then smiled.84

“Can I walk you home?” he asked. She nodded and walked over to the window.85

“Why do you guys always go out my window?” Kevin asked with a groan. He was trying to sound annoyed, but he was too amused for that to happen.86

“Because it has an awesome ladder attached to it.” Skye said smiling “Let’s go guys. See you later London. Oh and give her my number Kevin.”87

“Fine, bye Skye.” Kevin said. I through her a wave, and she ran back over to me.88

“Here’s something to numb your face if you need it, alright?” I nodded a thank you, and Skye headed back to the window. Rachel gasped apparently remembering something, and said89

“Give her my number as well…actually give her all of our numbers Kevin.”90

“Yes master.” Kevin said rolling his eyes. She laughed and headed out the window after Skye had went down. Austin went next, followed by Jason then Alexander.91

“Well I guess it’s just us now.” I said taking the list of numbers from Kevin92

“Lucky me.” Kevin said playfully. I rolled my eyes and slapped his arm. He laughed and gave me a hug. “Sorry London.”93

“Yeah yeah. Sure you are.” I giggled. Even though I was still hanging out with him for the rest of the day I was still kinda sad when he broke off the hug.
