I stared at the coffin as they carried it towards the hill, to be buried for final resting. My heart was swelling inside my chest, I had never though I'd lose my mother this young. My eyes went to the boy beside me, holding my shoulders in comfort. Shishimaru, my best friend. Beside him, to our left, was my father. His face was as cold and hard as stone. The rain swept through our village, showing no intention of leaving. Everyone's eyes went to me, seeing tears stream down my face. We had to respect my mother's wishes, and not be buried with sorrow. I however, thought differently. "Shishimaru, we must leave. I cannot take this much longer," I whispered, allowing him to squeeze my left shoulder in support. My father tilted his head to me, nodding his permission. "Shishimaru, take her home." The silver-haired boy obeyed and lead me down the flooded path.2
When I really though about it, I become angry. My mother was innocent, a heavenly being, literally. Why had my father sent her out to Earth? Why not one of his guards! Unless! . . . Unless . . . My heart beat quickened as I recalled the time my mother had disagreed with my air-born lesions. She never wanted me to be like her, she said to run and dream. "Shishimaru . . . Can you please tell me, which Country is the most friendly, in Earth?" 3
"I believe the Fire Country, My Lady, why do you ask?" He tilted his head, watching me as I collected things into a bag, including my katana of moonlight. "Suni . . ." 4
"Shishimaru, I want you to tell my father to leave me be, I'm going to Kohona!" I announced, heading for the corridors. Shishimaru followed, trying his best to stop me. I was too busy in thinking, so I didn't give a damn. 5
The rain was still pounding against my skin as I perched myself on the largest stone carving. I took a few deep breaths, feeling the wind pick up without notice. "This is it . . . Kohona, here I come." I slid off the end, free-falling through the clouds. Even if we lived in Earth's atmosphere, it still didn't claim our home as 'Earth Territory'. Instead, it was the Moon Kingdom.6
I screamed in pain as aqua wings ripped from my shoulder blades slowing my fall. Everything was so breathtaking. The birds, fresh air, wet, puffy clouds. I didn't care if I was the last being in the universe. I was finally free of my father, the Moon King. Being his only child, I was certain he'd send someone after me. 7
My wings flapped once more, pushing my feet firmly on the sand. I tilted my head upward, meeting a guard's gaze. This wasn't Kohona, it was too humid and dry. "Miss, may I help you? Are you hurt?" He must of not noticed my flight down. The wings had already dispersed, leaving blood dripping from them. "Yes, I was attacked by ANBU . . . and rough ninjas," I lied smoothly, falling to my knees in pain. They knelt to my side calling for medic nin.8
While I was unconscious, I dreamt of how much better my life would be, friends, a new family, maybe even love. It came upon my mind that this was my new beginning, a chance for a fresh start. I would remove my crescent moon headband, and replace it with a new one. The pride surged through my veins, and for once in a long time, I was blissfully asleep.
Author notes
This is a story that has some Naruto characters in it. Mostly, it's about Suni Amari finding something she'd never had, while she's on the run from her old village. The other characters shall be in the fourth or fith chapter. This was purely fun and not ment to make fun of anything in any way. My BSFF owns the character Suni Amari (no kidding, she made it up!) and her friends that I have not met, own their made up ones.
This is for you, Sunsun! Hope ya like it!
