Forsaken

She reaches for the stars, fingers outstretched, barely grazing the heavens. An electric shock runs through her and she falls back to Earth. The night sky rushes past her in a blur of different blues and streaks of light. Her eyes stare upward at the things she could not reach. Tears for things lost and opportunities never to be presented filled her beautifully broken eyes. She leans her head back in the wind, raven hair rushing upward in an upside down waterfall of silk. Her white dress whips around her body, wind tickling her bare feet. She closes her eyes at the moment she crashes into the sea.1

Water surrounds her suddenly with deadly force. She opens her eyes once more, seeing the short lives of the creatures swimming all around her. She opens her mouth and sings the song of the gods and goddesses. Sings of who she once was. She must have reached too high. Too high.2

With that thought, she rises out of the water, walking toward shore in her drenched state. Mortals stare at her in disbelief. Ayana, goddess of beauty and sadness, walks toward them, head held high, moonlight reflecting off of the water covering her pale skin. Her blue eyes held a glow all of their own still.3

They clear a path for her to walk through.4

Whether or not she continues to hold a title of godhood, she still is… Forsaken.5

  • I'm not really sure what to make of this or if I fancy it. It may have gone slightly over my head or is a bit advanced for my simple mind. The imagery was beautiful, as always. I dunno what to say, really. I'm sorry.

    • Thanks It's really nothing, I guess. It's just what I saw in my head when I listened to 'Forsaken' by Within Temptation. My mind kind of was like "You should write this just to do it," haha. So I did.
