Leaves of Autumn - a poem for my daughter

Newborn one, you come to me, 1

like a mysterious ripple, 2

that breaks the smooth surface of a peaceful 3

pond. 4

Like a sudden rainstorm, 5

crashing with thunder and blinding with lightning; 6

not even a single drop before to herald the 7

coming onslaught. 8

Your cherubs' face attacks my banded heart 9

with a ferocity it was not made to bear. 10

Defence from such an assault is 11

laughable 12

loving you the only choice available. 13

Like the leaves of autumn, so has my heart 14

changed it's colors and fallen 15

    Oh, gosh. That was beautiful!!!

I hope you don't mind me saying this, but I am going to become a stalker of sorts. I think you're a very talented author of prose and poetry.

This was beautiful. Made me cry. I wish you all the best in the contest. You will definitely go far.

lol feel free to stalk away. I've never had my own personal stalker; it just might be fun
Seriously though, thank you for the comments, it's much appreciated.
