First off, I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. He is the solid rock on which I would be dumb if I didn't stand. Simply put, I am a Christian. It has come to my attention, however, that I have an opinion and so my opinion must be written so that everyone will know just how "bad" I really am at being a Christian. These are the things that I believe. 1
Tattoos are not wrong. Granted, there are forms of these tattoos that are severly inapproporiate. However, if our bodies are temples can't we decorate them? I've seen many churches with decoration and adornment in, on, and around them. Tattoos should be done with care but there is nothing wrong with them.2
Music is a form of expressing oneself. There are all different types and just because a person screams or plays an electric guitar in the song does not automatically make them hethens who worship satan. The lyrics to these songs are sometimes the greatest and most worship-minded lyrics I've ever heard. Often, they are so simple but so powerful if the people would just listen. Such lyrics as "my scars become Yours. My pain becomes Yours." and "thank You Jesus, thank You!" can be heard in the songs of a band called For the Love of God which is a screamo band that I have seen live out the word of Christ moreso than most of the "pop-chrsitian" or "gospel' artists. Judgement is a sin just as much as lying and murdering. Let he who is without sin cast the first judgemental glance. Let he who knows everything be the first to say that music is wrong.3
Now to something a little bit more heated. I am pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, and pro-seperation of church and state. I have my reasons but the thing about that is, I don't think anyone will take the time to listen to them. I think they are very valid reasons but everyone knows I am wrong and they are right already. I've listened to their reasoning for years, now listen to mine.4
Gay marriage is not wrong. I firmly believe that God does not become upset because people are in love. What changes between a man and a women falling in love and a man and a man falling in love? Isn't God love? It wouldn't make sense if the God of love condemned love. It's not a choice. You just can't choose who you fall in love with. They need the rights to marry just as much as "regular" couples. We are forcing them to make love to each other unmarried. We are forcing them to commit adultery. God didn't put no homosexuality in the Bible. He did put no adultry in the Bible which is where the people interpret the no homosexuality clause of the Bible. They were adulteres and that's what made God mad. It's a habias corpus type of thing. I challange you to show me the verse. 5
I'm in no way condoning abortion but I think it should stay legal which makes me "pro-choice." In a perfect world, everyone would play it safe until the couple is absolutly ready to have a baby. However, we all know that's not going to happen until the second coming. Until then, the people who have made a mistake need a safe option. It's never an easy decision to abort a baby, however they need the option. In order for a choice to be made, there have to be the options. You just can't make a choice without an option. Even if abortion becomes illegal, there will still be the unsafe backalley abortions that will plague the country with deaths of the mothers of the aborted babies. 6
The seperation of church and state makes sense to me. Whenever there has been a religion in charge, there has always been a conflict with the religion in power. The religion always gets corrupted in some way or another and that's never a good thing. People in power of a certain religion are scrutinized and picked at by all people who aren't in that religion. There's just no avoiding it. If the religion in power does something wrong, there is scrutiny by the minority religion. Originally, the United States was mostly made up of Christians of one denomination or another escaping persecution so it has come to follow that America is has a psuedo-Christian government structure. I'm not saying that needs to change, I just think Christians should quit trying to take over the White House "for the good of the religion." Let those who are fit to lead, lead. And If he or she happens to be Christian, pray that he or she doesn't screw things up for us majorly. 7
Those of you who know me will probably never see me the same way again but it drives me crazy when people judge people for their different views but never actually seek the reasoning behind the logic. It's not my ultimate goal to make people "convert" to my way of thinking.I just want to be judged by my reasoning not necesarrily what I think. Lastly, I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. He is the solid rock on which I would be dumb if I didn't stand. Simply put, I am a Christian.

Well, it's all out in the open now isn't it??

I agree with a lot of what you have to say, Sara. No one should judge anyone. There's a verse, I think in Romans, that says "All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God." There's plenty of things I don't agree with in this world, but I won't judge another because pointing fingers never made anyone happy. Keep your head up, rock on. -Liz
