Homeless

The cold gnaws at my skin like a wolf to its prey. The air is thick and chills my nostrils; my eyes stay shut and cannot see. My teeth remain clenched and cannot talk; my fingers lay swollen and cannot feel. I hear a crack that shakes the earth and light radiates though my eyelids. There will be rain, it will fall like glass and shatter on my reality.

This was a great piece. Very well worded and the emotion was over-powering. This is exactly what I'm looking for in the contest. So, welcome to the finalist's list. Thanks for entering, and I wish you the best of luck in the contest.
