"No! Leave her alone! I'll go with you, I'll do whatever you say, just don't hurt her!" Victoria screamed at the cloaked man.1
"That's what we like to hear." There was maniacal laughter echoing from walls that were not there, and the cloaked man multiplied until Victoria's vision was all a purple so dark it seemed black. 2
Victoria awoke screaming. The dream-or was it a nightmare?-got more vivid each time it occured. She didn't know who the girl was, but she felt an urge to protect her at all costs.3
Her parents didn't come to see if she was being kidnapped or murdered anymore. Sometimes, her mother would hesitate right outside the door.4
Victoria, the only daughter of Vince and Dana, was the last child left. Her parents were very protective, sometimes overly so. 5
Rod, their first son was abusive towards his wife. He emotionally abused and manipulated all but his own daughter.6
Rod's own grandfather shot and killed him. His grandfather's last words were "If I had the oppurtunity to do it over again...I'd still have shot 'im."7
Timothy-otherwise known as Tim, and by Victoria, Moth Man- went off to Iraq the day he was old enough. He died in a bombing 6 days before he was scheduled to go home.8
Victoria couldn't understand her dream. She was seeing a shrink, but she didn't believe a word the woman said. 9
"C'mon! All she says is 'and how does that make you feel, Victoria?'" Victoria muttered.10
Sleep however, overwhelmed her before she could think about her shrink or her odd dream.11
Victoria didn't notice the cloaked figure sitting on her windowsil.12
"Soon, Victoria. Soon."
