Dark Mystery

The door screeched as she pushed it slightly with her finger. The house was unwelcoming. However, she had to confront him. Whether she'd live or die. The loud screech of the door made her freeze for a moment, and she strained her ears to detect any unseen movement.
The inside of the house was twice as dark as it was outside, especially with the lack of the moon and stars that typically illuminated the ground this time of night. Everything felt eerie and ominous tonight, her heart was thundering inside her chest as she took a single step inside the door.
He had told her to stay away, had warned her not to 'continue' following him, but that was just it...she hadn't been...not until tonight. They had just kept bumping into eachother, Emily saw him everywhere, everytime she turned around for weeks now. This time...this time she had followed him, she was willing to admit that, at least to herself. She had only followed him though, to find out why he was suddenly demanding her to stay away, he hadn't seemed bothered before...infact, she thought, he seemed to enjoy the fact that they continued to run into eachother, she had even been under the impression that he had been following her. And besides, she didn't want to stay away, something about him called to her, kept drawing her back to him, even though she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was that seemed to attract her so. With a shaky breath, she took a couple more steps inside the house, her eyes still hadn't adjusted to such dark surroundings. Then she stiffened, someone else was there, and...Emily knew it wasn't him. It was true his presence, often made her tremble...even when she didn't know he was there. But the presence she felt now wasn't the spine tingling pleasure of mystery she seemed to get from Drake. No, this presence was menacing and malicious...just all together bad. She could feel it in the way a shiver crawled up her back and arms, raising the gooseflesh and making the hair on the back of her neck stand at attention. She had barely drawn the breath to ask who was there when a hand clamped over mouth, and an arm snaked around her neck. She began to struggle against the stranger as white spots began to pop into her vision and her lungs began to scream from the lack of oxygen. For one horrifying moment she feared she would be killed, and just as suddenly she heard someone else enter the room as she was released and her legs melted beneath her. She slid to the floor and slowly slipped into oblivion.

Great story, though with you being older I have to consider that the younger writers will not be as good. Still, you will have a good chance of winning
