Stepping through the grass1
Wet, green blades tickle my feet2
Dewdrops on my toes3
Walking up the hill4
to where the old maple stands5
limbs outstretched as arms6
Woodchips replace grass,7
as I climb the garden hill,8
grasp a limb, pull up9
Bark beneath my feet,10
rough like sandpaper, it rubs11
grab another branch12
I am an ape,13
swinging through the Amazon,14
making my way up15
The ground seems distant,16
I straddle a branch and sit,17
gazing down below18
Birds sing all around,19
I have entered their abode,20
I am now one of them 21
Hands and feet rubbed raw,22
I slowly lean back and listen,23
the wind is dancing24
Perched in my oak tree,25
I am above the busy world26
and all its problems27
In a heartfelt prayer,28
my weary head gently bows,29
thankful for summertime30

Good
Peotry sure is allowed here, but if you only write poetry, I know of a better site. But if you write stories and poems, here is fine
