I Thought I Was Your Average Tomboy, That Was Until I Met HIM- He Changed Everything (Edward Cullen Love Story) Chapter 22

sorry guys- these last few chapters have been killer. I just want to get them over and done with. Oh and I don't know if i mentioned before- but i know there is typos of Rosalie's name as Rosaline. Sorry, old story with a character named Rosaline- and i was used to putting the "N" in there.1

Edward’s POV2

It was stupid, I know. And it still is. I shouldn’t have asked anyone about Riley, it would seem to creepy…especially in this small down. Yet more stupid decisions made… for her. For Riley.3

It’s a lot sunnier here than Forks. But thankfully there have been plenty cloudy days. 4

I went to the library first. Well, not the small town’s. It don’t even think it has one. The town was even smaller than Forks, with just a population of a few hundred people- barely even 500 if that. But the county’s library had newspapers dating back decades. And that’s where I searched first. 5

She was in many of the newspapers. Some things for awards, others for sport games, or clubs. I craved to know more, to learn more about the girl I love… and had to leave. Questions about her past I can never ask again.6

After there was no more to be learned from the newspapers, I started hanging in the small town again. People took notice to me. In a town smaller than Forks, Washington people are bound to notice someone like me aimlessly walking around. 7

After over a week, people started to take notice in me. They wanted to know why I was here, if I was visiting someone, or of I needed something. I mostly knew this because of their thoughts, for few approached me but those who did acted like all humans do. 8

All except Riley.9

I shake my head to try and clear the thought. Every time I even though of her my who body ached for her once again. 10

To bad I always think of her. 11

That went on for about week. I few people I vaguely recognize from Riley’s memories. 12

Then… suddenly there two people I recognize more easily than most. 13

They walk down the street. A boy and girl… just two normal people. But I know them to be Riley’s best friends. I walk up calmly to them, remembering to smile pleasantly through my pain. 14

“Excuse me, I was wondering if you two could help me?” I ask in the most pleasant voice I could manage.15

The girl looks at me wide-eyed. Hey green eyes lock onto me while the wind whips her blonde hair across her face. The boy looks at me uncertainly as he looks me over. He’s much shorter than I or the blonde, with somewhat short black hair also whipping around his face by the wind. I clear my throat to gain their attentions again.16

OMG He is SOOO hot! the girl’s mind practically screams.17

“Oh.. Yeah. Of… Of course. What do you need?” the girl asks nervously, still staring at me.18

“I was wondering if you could tell me about anyone that’s moved recently?”19

“Who wants to know?” the boy asks cautiously, his mind filling with thoughts about who I was and what I wanted with Riley.20

I can tell this is going to be a bit difficult. 21

Riley’s POV22

I go to my room and drop my things on the floor, laying on my bed looking up at my ceiling. I just lay there until my mother’s voice cuts me out of my trance.23

“Riley!”24

“Hmm?” I reply not moving from my spot on the bed.25

“You need to stop moping around.” my mother says standing in my doorway.26

“What are you talking about?” I ask.27

“You’re like a zombie! You don’t even play games with your brother anymore. You never talk on the phone or listen to music, or go out with your friends. I don’t even think you’ve been reading or writing!” 28

Well, I haven’t been hiding my heartbreak well enough obviously. “I guess I just have a lot on my mind.” I reply trying to get her to stop watching me so closely.29

“Well, you need to do something. You don’t get out anymore at all. Why don’t you go shopping with some of your girlfriends? That Jessica girl seemed nice…”30

“Mom, you know how much I like shopping.” I say to her annoyance obvious in my voice.31

“Okay fine…” she says turning around. “But you need to do something.” she says before leaving.32

I lay on my bed for the longest time, thinking. I try to get my mind off Edward but it’s impossible. The pain in my heart is still there… and worst. Everything reminds me of him. So I just lay there… hoping something will happen and I will stop feeling like this.33

After nearly an hour of just laying there I decide to stop moping around and call my best friend from my old town in Indiana, Sarah. It has been to long since I’ve talked to her, other than emails and instant messages. Maybe she can take my mind… and heartbreak off Edward. She and I are complete opposites, she’s a cheerleader and girly, and I’m… obviously not. But despite our many complete differences, we’re best friends. I pick up my phone and dial her number.34

“Riley!” she exclaims as a greeting.35

“Hey Sarah, what’s new?”36

“Oh not much, knowing this little town.” I smile thinking of my little home town with less than a 400 people population.37

“Yeah, it’s pretty small. But even there there’s got to be something new.”38

“Well no, unless you count the GORGEOUS guy who’s in town.”39

My thoughts instantly click to Edward. Not that they ever really leave him.40

“What guy?” I ask trying not to get my hopes up. I mean, Edward in my little town. There’s no way. But still… I hope. 41

“Oh there is this freaking amazing looking guy in town. He’s really nice, I’ve talked to him. He asked about the town. Said he’s visiting family. But no one knows where he’s staying, and he’s not anyone I’ve seen visit before. No one really knows who he is, but he’s been asking about past residents. And Brandon said he asked about anyone who’s moved lately.”42

I feel a pang in my heart. My family have been the only people to move from that small town for over ten years. “Sarah, what does he look like?” I say trying to keep my voice even, apparently I failed. Or maybe Sarah just knows me to much.43

“What? Why? What’s going on?” she asks.44

“Nothing, just tell me what does he look like. Does he have brown hair?”45

“Uh, yeah. He looks really pale too, but then again I’m not one to talk. I can’t keep a tan to save my life. And his body, freaking AMAZING. He is the best looking guy I’ve ever seen! And his eyes.. God I could look at him forever.“ she drifts on and on about him… but my mind is spinning so fast I can’t pay attention to her. Suddenly her voice breaks through and I pay attention again. “Riley, what’s wrong?”46

“Nothing Sarah.” I say in a half-trance like state. “Hey listen I have to go. I’ll talk to you later.” 47

“Aw, seriously. You just called!”48

“I know but this is important. I promise, I’ll talk to you later.”49

She sighs. “Fine, you better!” 50

I laugh, typical Sarah. “I will, promise.” 51

I hang up the phone before I hear her goodbye. 52

I run to my closet and grab a small suitcase. I throw some cloths and everything I would need for a few nights. Thank god it’s Friday. After I throw everything in the suitcase I open my desk and find my hidden box. I grab some money and stuff it in my pocket. I go downstairs as quietly as I can. I know my parents probably aren’t asleep yet, but I know they’re at least in bed. I make it down the stairs without making a sound and walk towards the door.53

“Where are you going?” I spin around and see Tater. 54

“Listen, Tater I need to go somewhere for the weekend. I know mom and dad will get mad that I’m going so suddenly, but there’s something I REALLY need to do.”55

“Where are you going?” he says crossing his arms. Great, he’s going to rat me out I just know it. 56

I sigh and decide the truth is better than anything. “Indiana.”57

“Why?” he asks.58

“There’s something I need to do. Please Tater, please don’t tell mom and dad until I’m gone. I really need to do this, it’s important.”59

He’s silent for a moment and just looks at me. “It’s about Edward isn’t it?” he says breaking the silence.60

I look at him in disbelief. “How… how did you-”61

“Listen, he hasn’t been in town for like a month and you’ve been all sad and emo since he disappeared. Now, you’ve got something on you’re face… I don’t know hope or some crap. But I can tell it’s about him.”62

Wow. Talk about way insightful and thought out. Not like him at all. “Yeah, it’s about Edward.”63

“Then I’ll cover for you.”64

“What?” I ask in disbelief. He would never do anything like this normally. “What’s gotten into you?”65

“Nothing, lets just say you’re my sister and I deserve to give you a break every now and then.”66

“Wow… how can I be sure you’re not going to go rat me out as soon as I open the door?”67

“I won’t just trust me.” I look into his eyes and see the very rare sincerity and seriousness they held. 68

“Thank you.” I hug him as tight as possible.69

“Uhhg, get off me!” I let go and grab my suitcase, going out the door. 70

I climb into my truck, turn it on and quietly pull out the drive way, and start driving to my love.
