The fog is drifting around the deserted streets. The only movement is the odd scuffle from a rodent, or the flicker of a streetlamp. The clouds slowly move across the moon, as the local people sleep in their cosy beds, unaware of what is about to take place. 1
Then the door of what looks like a deserted house opens. All the nocturnal animals scattered and hid anywhere they felt safe. There in the doorway, stood a lady, by the name of Morticia. She had eyes that look like they could turn someone to stone, black hair let down, flowing down to her hips. She had a black fitted t-shirt on, and leather trousers. Then out of the bottom of her trouser there were sexy platform boots, with heels about 4 inches high. Then over all of that she had a heavy leather trench coat blowing in the wind. She stepped out of the doorway and headed towards the town. 2
She walked around the side of the local pub, looking for anyone. She had a thirst for blood that she needed to quench. And there, there was a lone drunken man. He was staggering around with a bottle in his hand. Morticia didn’t want to waste this opportunity; she seized the man by the shoulders and sank her sharp fangs into his tender neck. The man began to turn white. When she was done she let him go, the man slumped to the floor and there he was left. Morticia had had her blood for the night, but if there were another chance, she would take it. She began to walk off as she rounded a corner she sited a man in a leather trench coat, with his teeth into a young woman’s neck. The girl fell to the floor and the man turned to see Morticia watching. He gave a slight smile, just enough to show his fangs. Then he spun and ran up the wall of the nearest house. Morticia began to follow. As she got to the top of the building there was no sign of anyone. As she turned to the edge of the roof she heard a noise. She span around to see what it was but then a rat scurried past her boots. With a slight sigh she descended down the wall and went back to her lair. 3
She entered her lair to meet the company of her fellow vampires at her feet. The lair was dark and very gothic. There was a table with loads of black candles scattered around it. The walls were made of stone as was the floor, but there was the odd rug on the floor. The fellow vampires always have to obey Morticia or she would just torture them, or even worse, drink them dry. Morticia called a meeting with every vampire she knew and told them about the new one in town. No one was to challenge him apart from Morticia, as she was the vampire queen. The meeting was dismissed with the mutter of a newcomer and Morticia left them to turn into her bed. She made her way to her room and pushed open her door. Her bedroom was quite big; it had a four-poster double bed on one wall with a black velvet duvet, then a huge wardrobe made of thick oak, and there was a dresser. This had everything special to her in it. There were such things as: a fang sharpener and her favourite studded choker. She sat on her bed and took her boots off, then her coat, then her t-shirt and trousers. She then entered her en suit bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror and cried. She was unhappy with her life. She had no one that was close to her. She opened her drawer and found her razor blade. This was her only close friend. She dragged the blade across her scarred wrist and waited for the blood to flow. With the site of the blood she felt relieved. She returned her razor to its hiding place and retired to her bed. As she lay there, she often thought of her lost family. They weren’t vampires. Morticia was bitten and had to become one and leave her family behind. She lay there and slowly closed her eyes and fell asleep. 4
Morticia awoke to the shaking of her cat. Her cat, Salem, often joins her on her bed to sleep. She glanced at the clock and it was 10:00am. Morticia got out of bed and dressed herself in a black t-shirt, velvet trousers and her wristband to hide her cuts. She exited her room and went downstairs to find Ville entering the lair from his last prowl. Morticia had to find the newcomer. She was leaving the lair when she noticed a man, teller then everyone disappearing around a corner. She set off at a sprint to try to follow the man. She got to the corner and she was right, there was a vampire like man walking down the road. He was quite tall and he had a black leather trench coat on. Morticia followed him until he met up with another man. She tried to stay in the shadows and listened to what they had to say to each other. “Lestat. We have been waiting for you.” Said a quite fat man, and then the vampire like man entered the building. Morticia thought to herself… Lestat…Lestat… I know that name… She thought about the name all the way back to her lair. When she arrived back to her lair a fellow vampire Hallie were waiting for her with some news on the newcomer. “Morticia! Morticia!” cried Hallie. She beckoned Morticia to the table. They both sat and had a glass of blood. “I have news on the newcomer.” Hallie started. “The name of him is Lestat. And he is after your position!” Hallie continued. 5
“Lestat? I saw him today. I followed him and he went into a building.” Morticia interrupted. And with Hallie’s words Morticia downed the rest of her blood and left the room. She went to her bedroom once again. She spent most of her time there. She collected her coat and looked out of the window. It was getting dark. It would soon be time to hunt. She descended her stairs to hear the cries of a woman from outside. Morticia rushed outside and there was a woman screaming, with Lestat’s fangs inside her neck. Lestat noticed Morticia and he ran off. Morticia ran after him. Lestat lead them to a main road. Where he then jumped in an oncoming jeep. The innocent man driving jumped out of the moving vehicle. Morticia jumped onto it and reached into the windows after Lestat. Lestat lay on his back and kicked the roof. Morticia lost her balance and fell from the jeep onto the dusty road. She quickly jumped up and caught the boot. She once again got herself on top of the jeeps roof. Lestat done a sudden turn and Morticia once again lost her balance. She caught the wind and floated onto the bonnet. Lestat drove into the nearest tree and Morticia flew off the bonnet and landed on the grass. She opened her eyes and got up to find that Lestat had got away. Morticia screamed a haunting scream and then began her hunt. 6
She walked the empty streets looking for a poor soul to destroy. She remembered when she got bitten; she was walking her dog in the park. She hates having to do this to people. But that’s their way to survive. Then she spotted a lonely girl. Walking along the path crying. Morticia walked up behind her and sank her teeth into the girl’s cold skin. Then she let her go and walked off. Morticia arrived back at her lair and no one was about. Everyone must be hunting she thought. So she decided to go to bed. As she went up her stairs she heard noises from a room. She went over to the door and opened it slightly to find Ville and Hallie together in bed. She slammed the door closed and ran to her room. Tears streamed down her face as she entered her en suit and looked for her razor blade. Everyone has someone to care for. Why can’t I find that special person? She felt so lonely, so insecure and felt the need to explain this to her trusty razor blade. She took it winced in sorrow as she repeatedly sliced across her wrist. She focused on the blood flowing. The blood kept going down her hand and onto the floor, until she felt too weak to carry on. So she set down the razor and crawled into bed. And fell to sleep straight away. 7
Hallie pushed open Morticia’s door quietly. She walked over to Morticia and then glanced at her wrists. Hallie then looked in the en suit to see a puddle of dry blood on the floor. Hallie couldn’t believe why Morticia does this; how it could make her feel better she will never understand. Hallie turned around and tripped over Morticia’s boots. She fell to the floor with a clump. Morticia awoke to see Hallie on the floor. “What are you doing Hallie?” Morticia shouted. Hallie looked into the en suit at the bloody floor. Morticia looked at her wrist, it was on show. “Why did you do that?” Hallie asked. Morticia looked away in shame. “Please tell me Morticia.” Hallie said. 8
“What does it matter to you?” And with Morticia’s cold words Hallie made her way to her bed and went to sleep herself. 9
“Lestat! Wait!” Morticia cried out. Lestat stopped and turned around. “How do you know my name?” He asked. As he turned Morticia began to stare at his beautiful face. His eyes, eyes like angels. Then the little cute nose, and the mouth, it was just perfect. Then his chiselled chin. Black hair that flew in the wind, like it had it’s own mind. And this that Morticia felt the warm sun on her face. She opened her eyes to find herself lying in bed. It was all a dream. Morticia lay there thinking about what that dream must have meant. She was so confused. She looked down at her wrist there was ten new cuts, some still bleeding a little. As she was looking at them her eyes began to water. Why do I do this to myself? Morticia got out of bed and began to dress. She saw something move in the corner of her eye. She walked over to her window and looked around. She saw a black piece of cloth disappear around the side of the house. “Ouch.” Morticia said she had leant on something sharp. She looked down and there was a razor blade. Where did this come from? She picked it up and in the back of it there was something engraved in it that said Morticia. She stared at it for a while wondering who done this and why. Morticia went downstairs and Hallie was sitting with Ville on the table. Hallie looked at Morticia and smiled, Morticia just completely blanked her. Hallie looked down at her hands, she felt as if she was being disciplined for caring. Morticia walked past them and went through to another room to sit alone. As she sat down the front door sprang open and there was Dresdon, leaning against the door. He was all bloody and limping, his nose was bent, eyes were swollen, lips were red and he still managed to get back to the lair. He limped over to the chair and slumped over it. Hallie and Ville rushed over to him but Morticia just pushed them out of the way. Morticia leant over him, “Who did this Dresdon?” She demanded. Dresdon looked up at her and tried to speak. He managed the sound of an ‘L’ and that was enough. “Lestat!” Morticia screamed. “Where did this happen?” Morticia continued. Dresdon looked to his left and pointed towards the city. Morticia rushed upstairs to grab her coat, and this time her knife. 10
Morticia got to the city and started looking around everywhere. Every corner every shadow. She reached the local pub where she normally finds a few meals and there was a woman lying on the ground. Morticia bent down and examined her neck. Two little puncher holes with blood still dripping from them. She straightened. She then heard footsteps from the alleyway next to her. She span round only to see a normal man. He then ran up to the girl and leant over her. “What’s happened to her?” The man cried. Morticia didn’t want to deal with him so she just pierced his neck too. She heard more footsteps coming towards her so she jumped at the nearest wall and began to climb it. When she reached the top she leant over the edge to see Lestat. He stood there looking around, like he was waiting for someone. “Lestat!” Morticia couldn’t help herself from wanting to call his name. Lestat looked up and saw Morticia and joined her on the roof. Lestat leant forwards to kiss Morticia but she moved. Morticia stared at him blankly. “How do you know my name?” Lestat asked. His hair was flowing in the wind as he looked at her. 11
“Well you think that the vampire queen won’t hear of a newcomer?” Morticia said with a little smile. 12
“Newcomer? Is that how you address me?” Lestat replied. Morticia gave a little nod. And with that Lestat tried to kiss her again and she let him. When their fangs touched there was some sort of magic around them. They seemed to just suit each other. “You up there!” Cried a man from below. Morticia and Lestat looked down to the ground and there was a man looking at the lifeless bodies on the ground. They fled across the rooftops into the darkness of the shadows. Morticia examined Lestat’s coat as they were running over the rooftops. It looked like the same one as she saw this morning. Morticia stopped, grabbed Lestat’s arm and pulled up his sleeve to reveal cuts, quite like her own. And with the sight of them they both felt a bond between each other, something that no one could break. But then Morticia remembered that Lestat had hurt Dresdon and she stopped still. Lestat turned to look at her. “Why did you do that to Dresdon?” She asked. Lestat gave a little smile. 13
“I just know how to lure you out.” Lestat replied with a cheeky tone. 14
“So you wanted me to come and find you?” Morticia asked. Lestat smiled and nodded. “But why?” Morticia asked. 15
Lestat put his hand on the back of her neck, and moved forwards, “We could rule the earth together.” He whispered into her ear. Morticia didn’t know what to say back. So she just smiled and starting walking along the rooftops again. She then turned and said, “You should come back to my lair.” Lestat nodded and smiled. So they turned round and walked towards the edge of the building then jumped off it. 16
Morticia opened the door to see Hallie and Ville comforting the in pain Dresdon. She walked in followed by Lestat. Ville jumped up and went for Lestat. “No!” Morticia cried as she pulled her knife out and held it to Ville. Ville looked at her blankly. “Look at what he did to Dresdon!” he shouted pointing at Dresdon. Morticia looked over his shoulder at Dresdon who was still quite bloody and swollen. “I knew that would get Morticia out to look for me.” Lestat interrupted. Ville stared at Lestat with an angry face; Lestat stared back with a cocky but calm look on him. “I have decided to let Lestat stay with us.” Morticia said, getting them to look at her and not each other. “What?!” Hallie said jumping up. “Him? Stay with us?”17
“Yes. Why not.” Morticia said calmly. Hallie just stared at her. “He’s one of us.” Morticia continued. 18
“But if he was one of us, then why would he attack Dresdon?” Hallie asked. 19
“He said why he done that earlier.” Morticia replied with a sigh. Hallie and Ville gave up arguing and left to destroy some souls. Dresdon worked his way upstairs to his room to sleep in his bed. Morticia gave Lestat a blanket. “You can sleep on the sofa tonight.” She said to him. Then she sat at the table and read the local newspaper. “Look at this.” Morticia said pointing to the paper. Lestat read: 20
10 people have disappeared in one week. The police are puzzled about the disappearances. No one feels safe to go out anymore. 21
Morticia let out a cackle. “Didn’t know we’d had that many this week.” Ville and Hallie returned and just looked at Lestat then went upstairs to their room. Lestat went and lay down on the sofa as Morticia went upstairs to her room. As Morticia retired to her room Hallie and Ville peeked out from their door. They quietly went downstairs and jumped on Lestat. Hallie had her hand over Lestat’s mouth and Ville was restraining him. “Leave.” Ville said in a threatening way. “Leave and never come back.” And with Ville’s words Hallie let go and so did Ville and Lestat walked towards the door. Then he turned “You’ll regret this.” And with those words he was gone. “What did he mean by that?” Hallie asked Ville. Ville shrugged and they returned to their room. 22
The sun arose the next morning. Morticia looked out her window to see the haze of the sun just breaking through the fog. The grass was white and frosty, cracking when the sunbeams reached them. She looked at a lone spider web. Entwined with drops of rain and frost, twinkling in the orange sun. It looked so beautiful in its own way; Morticia appreciated the little things like that. She got dressed and descended the stairs. There was no Lestat on the sofa. She looked around the kitchen, all the other rooms in the house. No sign of him anywhere. Morticia began to get worried. He wouldn’t have gone out at this time to eat. She went upstairs and burst open Ville and Hallie’s door. Hallie was at her mirror tying her long brown hair up. “Where is Lestat?” Morticia demanded. Hallie looked at her and shrugged. Ville came out of the bathroom. “Where is Lestat?” Morticia repeated. “I know it’s got something to do with you two.” 23
“He needed to go. He was a enemy.” Ville replied.24
“How was he a enemy?” Morticia shouted. “He’s one of us. What have you done to him?”25
“He just left last night.” Hallie answered with a not bothered tone. 26
“Well you have to have both of us here, or none of us.” Morticia said.27
“What’s that meant to mean?” Ville asked.28
“You either have to put up with him being here, or you wont have either.” Morticia explained. 29
“But we just can’t have Lestat here.” Ville said. 30
“Why can’t you just accept him?” Morticia asked.31
“Because he’s just after your spot as leader.” Ville answered.32
“But he wants to be king, and me queen.” Ville just sighed at Mortcia’s words, and she left. Morticia went straight to the pub and onto the rooftops looking for Lestat. 33
“What are we going to do? We just can’t have Lestat here.” Hallie asked Ville. “I don’t know. But we’ll think of something.” Ville replied. Hallie visited Dresdon to see how he was getting on. He was asleep still. His nose still bent and he was puffy and bruised. “Look at the state of him Ville. Poor Dresdon.” Hallie said. “All because of Lestat.” Ville could hear loathing for Lestat in Hallie’s words. She really despised him.34
Morticia was searching everywhere on the rooftops. Every dark space she saw. She gave up and sat on the ledge of the roof. A hand touched her shoulder and she jumped and turned. Lestat was standing there, his hair once again moving like it was alive. Morticia stood up and hugged him. Lestat leant towards her and kissed her lips softly. “Where did you go?” Morticia asked. 35
“Ville and Hallie came downstairs last night and forced me to leave.” Lestat explained. Morticia was speechless. “I don’t believe they would do such a thing.” Lestat just nodded. “Well let’s go back.” Morticia said. They both descended down the nearest wall. There was an onlooker. Morticia looked at Lestat and sighed. She then went over to the girl. “How did you…” the girl started to ask but then had Morticia’s fangs stuck into her neck. 36
Ville and Hallie were sitting at the table reading the newspaper together, and the door opened. Morticia came in followed by Lestat. With the sight of him Hallie’s face filled with anger. Ville looked at Hallie and whispered to her to calm down. “So...” Morticia started. “Lestat got forced out by someone.” She continued. Ville and Hallie looked guiltily at each other. Morticia walked over to the table and slammed her fists on it. “What have you got against Lestat?” She demanded. With the bang of her fists on the table Ville and Hallie both jumped. Hallie looked up at Morticia. “He doesn’t belong here.” She said to her. Morticia just looked at Hallie disgracefully and shook her head. “If any of you try to make him go away from here again, I’ll personally hurt you.” Morticia threatened Ville and Hallie. And with that Ville and Hallie went outside. “What do they have against me?” Lestat asked. Morticia hugged and kissed him. “No idea.” She replied. “But I swear, if they do that again, ill kill them. Any way… have you had anything to eat yet?” 37
“Nope. Didn’t find anyone.” Lestat replied. Morticia went into her fridge and found a bottle of blood for Lestat, and handed it to him. “There you go.” Morticia said with a smile. Lestat gulped up the blood, he took the bottle away from his lips and there was a bit of blood on his chin, so Morticia licked it off. Lestat then lay down on the sofa. Morticia went to the kitchen window and watched the birds fly around. How they were free. Go where they want, when they wanted. She watched the black birds hop about the trees chirping at each other. Then her attention went to a pair of turtledoves. They sat together, snuggled up on a branch. The sun began to set and the sky turned purple. The birds retreated to their nests for safety. Morticia turned and sat on the table, she started to read the newspaper again. 38
5 years ago a girl of 20, escaped from jail. She was sentenced to 7 years in jail for trying to murder the millionaire Mr Smith. The girl, Hallie Gordon, disappeared and has never been seen since. But beware, as she is very dangerous and could still be out there. 39
Morticia read the name Hallie Gordon, and remembered that that was Hallie’s second name. Morticia just stared blankly at the paper for a couple of minutes and read through the article a few times. Morticia ripped out that particular article and put it in her pocket. 40
Hallie and Ville came back a little while after. Hallie and Morticia gave an evil stare to each other. Hallie retreated up the stairs followed by Ville. Morticia looked over at Lestat and he was asleep, so Morticia decided to go to sleep herself. 41
Hallie crept out of her room and stood beside Lestat’s sleeping body. She got her fangs ready for a bite. Lestat heard Hallie’s deep breathing and opened one eye to see her ready to bite him. He groped her neck as quickly as possible and she began to choke. Morticia heard the choking and rushed downstairs to see Hallie choking. “Lestat what are you doing?!” Morticia cried. Lestat let Hallie go and she gasped for air. Hallie turned around to look at Morticia with her fangs out. “You wasn’t…” Morticia said in disbelief. Hallie just gave an evil smile. Then she ran at Morticia and reached for her neck. Morticia reached for her knife and stabbed Hallie in the neck. Hallie let go and felt her neck. The blood was running out like a waterfall. Lestat then ran towards Hallie and began to suck on her neck. Morticia pierced the other side of Hallie’s neck and sucked the blood out. Hallie began to slip down to the floor with Lestat and Morticia still drinking her blood. Ville came clomping down the stairs. “What are you doing?” He cried. But Hallie had already become lifeless. Ville slumped over her body and wept. Lestat and Morticia moved away and gasped for breath. “I’m sorry Ville, I didn’t know it would come to this. She was going to kill Lestat.” Morticia said. Ville just continued to weep and hug Hallie’s body. Morticia wiped Hallie’s blood from her mouth and sat at the table. Hallie’s body then began to turn to ash and Ville stared at it. Her body turned to a pile of ash on the floor then that caught fire. That was the last of Hallie Gordon. Morticia dug in her pocket and found the article about her. She opened it up and gave it to Ville. Ville read it, “Is this true?” He asked. Morticia nodded. “This is the girl I loved.” Ville continued. “A dangerous killer.” He then slumped down on the sofa. Lestat just stood there, he felt a little guilty of what happened and he didn’t know what to say. Morticia sat next to Ville and held his hand whilst watching his salty tears descend down his face and drop onto his top. Ville was just staring at the spot of where Hallie had been killed by his fellow vampires.42

This is extremely interesting, like the mystery in it, and is this mildy based off Anne Rice's books, like a fanfic? nothing wrong, it's good, just asking. I ask because Lestat is a major charcter of her novels.

This is really good, I loved it. You wrote it so wonderfly. Your descriptions were perfect as well. Most the time I even felt like I was the character. I love reading stories like this one. It's creepy and interesting at the same time! When you used the name "Ville" it sounds like you were trying to use the singer from H.I.M, but it's still really good. I enjoyed it! Keep up the great work and I hope I can get around to reading more!!
Great Job!!!
