Your chipped tooth, from a third grade fall.2

The kinks in your hair when you wake up in the morning.3

The mashed potatoes you can never whip up quite right.4

In these faults, I find myself.5

I am afraid.6

I am immature.7

I am damaged.8

When I am with you, these things don't matter.9

I like your uneven smile.10

I like your lumpy brown locks.11

I like the uncooked blobs in the meals you make me.12

If I could fix everything about you,13

Everything about me,14

I wouldn't.15

Because then we wouldn't be ourselves.16

And together, we already have the beautiful thing that we are living every single day, flaws and all.

    This was so beautiful and, as a few other posters said, so incredibly true to life.

    I especially loved the last line And together, we already have the beautiful thing that we are living every single day, flaws and all." It really wraps up the poem and gives it a nice little punch to go out with.

    The rhythm was another thing I really enjoyed--not a lot of writers can set down a nice, steady rhythm when they write, but I thought you did it quite well.

    I'll definitely be looking for more of your stuff soon.

    That was so awesome and true. When you love someone you don't really notice their imperfections and if you do they don't matter at all. Good writing and luck in the contest you entered.
