I wake up at 6:00 in the morning.1
Yawn.2
And stretch. It is a few seconds before I realize I'm not drowsy at all. A small smile plays across my lips and I reach over the the curtains. I pull them up and realize I've left my window open all night. The fresh, clean air circulates through my lungs, and once again I smile. The sun is already up and bright, the sky a deep summer blue that is unexplainable. I take one last gulp of the crisp, clean smelling oxygen and turn myself to the door.3
I meander to the closet and open it to get towels for a shower. To my surprise the two most sought after towels in the entire household lay atop the pile. I run my fingers across the terry-cloth material and pick both up gingerly. Walking into the bathroom (Which I get into first, no waiting necessary) I strip off my pajamas and start the water. It seems to warm up quicker then usual and I step in. The silken water cascades down my body in what seems like one movement, and my muscles relax under the steaming pressure. 4
I reach up to grab the shampoo, and there's nothing there. A frown starts on my face, but then out of the corner of my eye I see a white and green bottle. My face lights up as I realize my mom has bought me my favorite shampoo. I savor in the thought of its Delicious sent before I set about the tasks of cleaning. I turn of the water and pull open the shower curtain, and for once in my life the air feels warmer outside. No goose bumps! I dry off my with my deliciously cozy towels and head for my room.5
My bed practically made itself it was so easy to take care of, my make-up looking better then it ever had. And my hair turned out exactly how I wanted to. I had my favorite clothes already picked out, and I use the perfume my mother bought me to seal the deal. 6
I grab my things, and walk through the house, opening the blinds as I go. The light pours in and illuminates the high vaulted ceilings, making our house look more like a home. My dog hasn't barked at the cat once this morning, in fact, he's hardly made a peep. I pick up the keys and head out the garage. I start the car, and turn on the CD player (My favorite song, of course) and back out of the driveway. Closing the garage I ease myself around the neighborhood. 7
There's no traffic on the main street, I can turn on to it right away. I pull into the small coffee shop where I come everyday and pull out my $1.25 and my punch card to give the gentle lady behind the counter. She smiles a nice smile and turns to make my morning meal. She turns back around with my beverage of choice, with two Delicious chocolate covered coffee beans on top. She hands it to me, and then picks up my punch card. 8
"Two punch Tuesday dear, have a pleasant morning!"9
And returns my punch card with two little heart shaped holes at the top, instead of the customary one.10
It is going to be a wonderful day.11

Amusing
Dang man I know what you are talking about. Living in a house with ten or so people, I know the astounding good fortune that a perfectly executed shower represents. Try listening to Ice Cube's "Today was a Good Day" and you'll know that the little stuff is what counts. -

I LOVE DAYS LIKE THAT! you use really great words. easy to read

My, my Liquid (Katy) you are as ‘tropical’ says, a master wordsmith. You make mornings sound like fun, nothing like the harsh reality of being here at all. You write about ‘nothing’ and give it life, you make it bloom into something special. - I just love how you married the title to your story; very clever. - Thank you.
