Seven faeries used to look after Earth. Long before there were people or animals, these supernatural beings spent their days relaxing, studying, and playing in the Utopia called Earth. The faeries lived in peace and happiness under the guidance of their queen, Violet. She was the all-knowing Faerie of Life. Everything was perfect; that is until Violet foresaw into the future, where human beings existed on Earth.1
The play halted and work began. Earth was not suitable for human beings. Trees sprouted for food and lumber. Animals began to clamber out of burrows that appeared in the sands. Rivers meandered across the lands. The work was completed quickly, but there was one problem. Where could the seven faeries go?2
Violet decided to wave her wand and work some magic one more time. During this final creation, Violet added emotions to the plan of what people would be like. Her favourite was wonder. She then decided that she would morph herself and the other faeries into seven wonders of the natural world.3
Evelyn, the tall and proud Air Faerie, sturdily grew into Mount Everest. Terrence, the serious Earth Faerie, sunk into the Grand Canyon. Rajah, the handsome Water Faerie liquefied into the Harbor of Rio De Janeiro. Percival, the aggressive Fire Faerie, boiled into Paracùtin Volcano. Graceful Victoria, the Spirit Faerie, was carried along with the current to Victoria Falls. Aurora, the sanguine Light Faerie soon took her place in the heavens as the Northern Lights. 4
Finally only Violet remained. As the leader of the faerie race, she believed that she should make herself the largest wonder of them all, the Great Barrier Reef. Today, the Great Barrier Reef is famed for all its life, the gift of the faerie Violet. It is in this way that the faeries can continue to watch over their beloved Earth for all time.5

What an original and magical concept. This story flowed like liquid diamonds, sparkling with every sentence. Oh how wondrous the world is because of our faerie "Violet". I think I know her by the way, she is the one that spinkled the African flower, and made it flourish in the wild. And the one that gave grapes their sweet flavor. Oh, and let's not foget that her artistry can be seen in the deepest violet in the rainbow. This is a sheer delight!
♥ I LOVE YOU ♥

a little stilted, doll. you might want to smooth it out a little. Otherwise, a good concept and base

This is so beautiful!
I myself would want to be the Northern Lights... or maybe Victoria Falls.
Well, I'm not a fairy (not when I'm awake, at least
), so I really have no say.
Thank you for the beautiful write! I truly enjoyed it!
