Two Men

Two men are sitting at different tables.1

One has a beer, the other has some sort of strong alcohol.2

Which one do you sit with?3

You chose to sit with the one with the beer—he looks amiable.5

Ask him about life. Has he achieved his dreams?6

Why, you must ask him.7

He will tell you, before you ask about it.8

He will tell you a story that he has perfected9

the one he made up along the years passing by.10

Then, he will smile.11

Leave and go sit with the other.13

The one that will smirk when you’ll ask about life.14

The one that will order himself another drink when you’ll ask if he has achieved his dreams.15

He won’t tell you, so you’ll have to ask twice.16

He still won’t tell it all, but it will do for now.17

Why, must you ask?18

Because he can’t tear them out easily.19

Which one will you fall in love with?21

But they’re both no one, you say?22

You’re in front of two strangers.24

One that is everywhere, and could be anyone.25

The other; you’ll try to avoid making eye-contact with.26

One knows whom he is; the other gave up trying to figure it out.27

You’re in front of one stranger that is following his course, and the other that is running away from it.28

Which one do you want to meet?30

The one that will practice his story with you, or the one that has more to say than what he has revealed?31

Two men that are no one.33

—but one has tried.34

I hope you’ll chose this one.35

Because he’ll make you try, too.36

And who knows which woman you’ll be, then.
