These men and women,
marching gallantly in dirt and sweat,
are walking willingly to their death
to fight against the men who go against them.
They fight for honor, they fight till the end,
and dead or alive, we will always honor them,
in our minds and in our hearts.1
Horrified screams, a large explosion,
severed leg and limbs and cadavers without heads,
that is just another day for them.
They try to save those near death
and get the onlookers away from the scene
as they try to remember why they left
their comfortable homes in the first place.2
Their families worry each bygone day,
mothers praying to their God that her baby is safe.
But they are proud of their daughter or son,
because they are doing something great,
even if they may be dead and underground today.3
The soldiers march on, armed and ready
with hearts, brains, and faith
to guide them all the way.

I can see a lot of effort put into this. An interesting topic, you choose; Soldiers. I like the vivid details of the soldiers. And the served limbs and how at home they are prayed for and worried about; and honored. Very epic piece.
