Thankful

Today, I was thinking about being thankful.  So, even though I am feeling homesick with a week of vacation to go, I made the list below.  It's not in any particular order.1

I am thankful for  ...2

God:   I know it seems cliche, but I am!  He cured Jen from cancer, saved my cat from getting euthinized and gave me everything else that is going to be on this list (and more!)3

Food:   Especially good food.  Like dad's spaghetti and meat sauce, or mom's lemon garlic chicken, or Aunt Sandra's curry.  Yum!  I just love food!4

Tiger:   She keeps me company, loves me to bits, and is pretty much always happy to see me.  Plus, she is so super CUTE!  I love my kitty!5

Parents:   As I mentioned before, they provide me with great food, and they clean up after me, they give me much needed information and dicipline.  They pay for my everyday needs with their hard earned salaries.  Plus, they have the hardest job on earth: parenting!!6

Rochelle:  Without a sister I would have zero social skills.  I NEED her around.  I cannot imagine how boring everything would be without her to hang around with.  Even though she is mean sometimes.  And annoying.7

Clothes:  They keep you warm and make you look great...and in the future, they will supply me with a very successful career.8

Books:  I may not read that often...but when I do,  I like to have something to read.9

Patrick: I LOVE my big brother and though I don't see him much, he's very important.10

Milk:  I know, technically this falls under 'food'  ...but it's sooo good!!11

Writing:  I love to write and I am so thankful that I can.  I am so thankful for my 'talent' and that people appreciate it.  Yay!12

Art:  I am so glad that this is around.  It is such a beautiful way for people to express themselves.  I especially my friend Claire's mom's work.  I wish I could do paintings like hers.  I am going to own one, someday.  They are so beautiful.  I love abstract art.13

Love:  The feeling of fuzzy-warm bliss?  I am not sure what love feels like yet, but I am sure happy that it exsists and I cannot wait to experience it!14

Boys:  Come on!  You knew it was coming!  they're funny, cute, smart, athletic, sweet, sexy...  How could they not be on here??15

Friends:  Boy!  What would life be like without FRIENDS?  Buddies, comrades, companions, pals, amigos!  THey make you laugh, they let you cry, they take you shopping, and they don't get mad when you miss their sweet sixteenth birthday (because you're in Osoyoos on vacation!).  I miss you CLAIRE, RHONDA, AND KRISSY!!16

School:  Let's face it, without education, where would we be?  In the cave's making stone soup, that's where!!17

Sleep:  Ah....sleep!18

Memories:  Even in the darkest of times, you can look back and laugh about the time your sister's teeth turned blue from the die in her birthday cake's icing. haha!19

Joy:  can you imagine life without any happiness or joy?  What a bummer that would be!20

Imagination:  FREEDOM OF YOUR MIND!!  The freedom to create!  This goes hand in hand with the art and writing.21

Freedom:  As long as you don't break any laws, you're free!!  Or if your insane.  THen you get locked up in an institution.  Anyway, it sounds good to me!!22

Laughter:  I cannot wait until I have laugh lines!  I am so excited!  I LOVE to laugh. ha ha ha ha!  Long and loud and clear!23

All Other Emotions:  It's the bitter moments that make the nice ones ever nicer!  Sadness, frusteration, anger, jealousy, hate, love (already mentioned--sorry!), anguish, sorrow, confusion, loss, fear, tension, guilt, self-pity, compassion, obligation, anticipation, excitement, dread, thankfulness, resentment, longing, anxious/nervous, empathy...  The list goes on and on...24

Warmth:  Nothing beats the calming sensation of the warm sun dancing on your eyelids or the comfort or the fireplace, warming your toes.  Warmth.  The warmth of your mother's loving arms.  The warmth of towels fresh from the dryer.  The warmth of hot chocolate running down your throat on a cold winter night.  The warmth of sliding into bed.  The warmth of snuggling up with a good book.  Warmth.25

Prayer:  It's pretty cool that we can TALK TO GOD!!!  That's all I have to say.26

Rules:  Without rules, there would be no order!  Boundaries are not set so that they can be crossed.  Rules are not made to be broken.  They keep us alive!!  Rules protect us!27

Simplicity:  I love simple things.  Sometimes complecation is too much.  Sometimes I don't want to have to figure something out.  Sometimes I just want it plain and simple.28

Talents: Everyone is good at something else, I like it that way.29

I am just bursting with a million more things, but I am so tired!30
